sorry arh have to recall from memory. may be wrong. basically it
goes like this
MRT line from bedok to Bugis. then
new bridge rd - end at bus ter
later in 1986, 3 was extended to jurong east gg via kampong bahru
rd, jln bt merah, queensway, commonwelath ave then MRT line again.
in 1987 or late 86 3 became a FAC service
to cut the long story short, it copied 147 from China town. then
worse is they withdraw air-con 3. then find demand still there so
shoot this AIR-CON 148 (Geylang lor 1 - Clementi) to duplicate the
above said 147 duplication.
then the demand for 147 west side finally dropped. 9due to
population move north east and outwards from west area) . thus
AIR-COn148 met its demise.

on my fav 390. the bus exited frm ECp using rochor rd then
bencollen st in its very first implementation. yes it ended at then
CMPB or to us now known as Dempsey food zoney. there was a bus ter
there that had buses express like service 7, CBD1 and this express
like 30 terminated there.
on service 7 in 1980, it expressed after tg katong area then along
stamford rd then start calling at stops again. along with service 8
its partner service to shenton way. service 6 was also from this
group to chiantown. all 6 , 7 and 8 served bedok to the above city
areas using the same express sector.
sadly service 7 is the sole survivor today. the rest were...voted
out.
