i remembered when 138 was amended to ply ave 6 and turn left to ave 5 from ang mo kio int, the 2 bus-stops at ave 5 that 138 used to serve when it was taking ave 8 and 5 got sealed off until 45 came.

its okie. the ave 6 change happened when 266 and 269 merged with the opening of AMK Temp Int.

269 used to ply ave 3, ave 6, st 61, (ave 9), ave 4, ave 5, ave 6, ave 3, (ave 8) and int.

266 used to ply ave 3, ave 4, yio chu kang rd, ave 5, ave 4, ave 3, (ave 8) and int.

upon reborning on 193 in 1980s:
Orginal route was Princess Elizabeth to Prince Edward Rd Ter (when Prince Edward Ter relocated to Shenton way), 193 called at the Shenton Way Ter instaed.

It used to be a SBS service plying from CCK to Bukit Panjang and CCK to Jalan Anak Bukit respectively. Handed over to TIBS.

179 Boon Lay to NTU.

I realised that many routes last time are handed over to TIBS. Eg. 169, 171
How exactly do that happen? Any reason for the event? Does the company put up a notice stating like 169 or 171 is going to be handed over to TIBS?

169 was handed over in the 80s when Tibs first came up, as they took over Woodlands.

171 was handed over to Tibs on 5th Nov 1995. First to use Bendy (TIB838H) in Jun 1996.

Well you can say so.

They don't have a choice. They can't simply change all the routes with their own because it'll confuse the residents, and it needs PTC approval anyway. Sad

They can use bendies , but i believe its more of the demand for the rest of the time especially off peaks. I don't think it has to do with the narrow roads at teck whye area.

Those bus services that started off as FAC but now PAC: 6, 35, 37, 91, 125, 151, 186, 191, 200.

Services 151 was downgraded to PAC in 2001 due to the fact that service 170 officially became a FAC in 2001 where all the Volvo MK3s were redeployed. Other bus services that were affected included services 91 and 191 which was downgraded to a NAC service Mr. Green

Services 82 and 103 supposed to be FAC after SBS took back the services from Tibs in 1999, now also downgraded to PAC.

Service 11 from FAC downgraded to NAC/PAC.

Service 32 and 155 supposed to be converted to FAC but became PAC 2 years back.

Service 115 started off as 1 AC bus now downgraded to a NAC bus Laughing

Feeders especially under BNDEP can still kanna NAC Scanias even though they are supposed to be FAC??

But got the feeling that service 151 will eventually become FAC after all the Volvo MK2s are phased out mid next year.
