If I could still remember, the 1982 SBS'78 annual report had pic of Sv 169 using LA

I once rode on a Scania L113CRL Strider on Tibs 59 just after the handover from SBS. Not sure whether it was a perm or a cameo.

thanks for the replies. Very Happy

anyone knows when 854 is introduced?

^tamago^ SG

i can’t help much but tell u the range: 1986 to 1992.

Anyway thanks for the reply. Actually I am just curious whether like for example 169, who plans out this route first? Is it SBS or TIBS in the past?

I always thought that the 85x are the pioneer services that TIBS has introduced and thus the bus territory thing is ignored for these services. TIBS has always been known to use 85x service numbers. However, after checking with Sgwiki, I realise that 167 is the first ever TIBS service.

Just a thought.

u forgot 161. 161 n 167 were the first two services transferred from sbs to tibs.

service 854 was introduced when the TIB33x and 34x were brand new n they dumped them new new on 854. the year shd be 1986-7.

service 7 had perm mercs then , they were
brand new on bus 7: 158 to 162, 514
other permers: 310 , 350, 517

service 59 recived scanias brand new when under TIBS

service 100 used 326 to 336 and 3796 to 3805. 3744 to 3747 came in second handed from another svc.

service 93 used sbs3897 to 3907 with 3909 and also 450 to 459. however 3897 3898 3899 3906 3907 left after a short stint on 93.

1st-ever TIbs route was 160, longest surviving Tibs route is 167.

8** series of routes were the "original" Tibs routes, meaning they were not taken over from SBS.

REmember it was TIbs who introduced feeders to YIS, not SBS.

160 AND 167 are the first TIBS route and to add-on:

TIBS also introduce WDL feeders too.

I remember in 2005 , SBS354E cameoed on 89 & an unidentified Merz OAC DM on 103.

^tamago^ SG

You forgotten about the very first feeder 372. I think it's SBS who started it. Laughing

And not forgetting that today's 925 (before extension to CCK) was actually 2 seperate services 204 and 208. 208 went further on Kranji Way to Reservoir Park and beyond, while 204 turns into Sungei Kadut proper.

^tamago^ SG

SBS ran Service 169 before Tibs took it over.

The rule of the thumb last time should be that new towns are given new set of numbers, while those originating from northern termini should use 16x to differentiate them.

80x and 85x weren't pioneer services for Tibs, they were merely services planned for Yishun New Town. 800, 801, 850 and 851 were Pioneers, operating out of Yishun Central outside now GV.

So, in that case, I can deduce that 169 is originally introduced by SBS in the past. If I am not wrong, there was a period when 171 used to be the only SBS service in Yishun interchange. Then, it got transferred to TIBS instead.

So, I guess TIBS is quite lucky to get so many transferred routes from SBS in the past.

Anyone still remembers O405 NAC's on 172 and 175 right up to the last days before the Tibs takeover in 2000? Laughing

This picture should be taken somewhere in 2001 if I am not wrong Wink Got some OAC MB0405 WAs under HGDEP for a short period of time in 2000-2001, ever seen on services 61, 89, 132, 165 and HG feeder 322 Shocked

For your info I think service 7 was once partially under Jurong Bus Park in the early 1990s if I am not wrong Rolling Eyes It also had LO2x other than MB0405s.

brotherchen1982 SG

There's when Service 7 is between Bedok - Jurong East before shorten to Clementi.

Rmber always took the LO2xs from Jurong East all the way to Bedok where my father used to work... Laughing

Favourite moment is when the bus turn right to Boon Lay Way from Jurong East Ctrl

Remember last time went to some farm in Lim Chu Kang in a coach and then saw the NAC O405 on 175 and became relieved that i was in a coach instead of taking the nac bus Laughing

brotherchen1982 SG

Yeah, some of them have become CAC where other Services still using NAC 0405s...

With regards to the qn in closed thread about 168 and 969, I am quite sure that 168 was introduced first before 969 in the year of between 2001 and 2002. For 161 and 965, I am not very sure which one comes first. However, 39 if i don’t rmb wrongly, comes later than 161 or 965 between the years 2002 to 2004.
