Wah piang if something like this can happen , then clearly something must be very wrong with the maintenance precedure or rules . Frankly speaking i like seeing more and more sbs buses breaking down .

I think the bottom one is damaged or missing, while the one on top survived but might have been bent keeping the door in its place.

Thats fast for a conclusion. Highly speculative. How can you be sure this never happened to SMRT before? Maybe it did and went unreported.

As for SBS Transit reaction to this, it would be something like: This is a rare case and we are investigating the cause. We regret that this has happened. We assure you that we are committed to ensuring the highest level of service is rendered. Our buses are regularly inspected and the safety of passengers have been our top priority. We will do a review and implement necessary precautions. Thank you for your feedback.

Maybe it was a result of cost cutting.

Ytd i was on TIB1102R on 176. Instead of door falling off , it was the entire front portion of the EZ Link reader falling off , hanging on the wires only. Laughing

actually, mrt doors can accidentally open too. i mean while travelling, and on the opposite side of the platform opening side.
cos yesterday the door i was leaning on opened up in the tunnel. well luckily i was leaning on my hand and quickly used my body weight to shift back the door close. it was peak hr, alot of ppl saw it happen. dun think anyone took a pic though, alot of hot air was rushing in and the train was packed.
well, no pic, dun ask me 4 one, was nt possible for me to take anyway.... Rolling Eyes

You cant blame this . There had been sayings that you shouldnt lean on mrt doors. Laughing Even if its very cramp , you shouldn't try to squeeze in and lean on the door. Its dangerous.
