Sounds like its the case for 86. hgdep provided about half the fleet as DD but after amdep took over. Most of the DDs were removed and its majority mercedes buses now.

like 64 86 119 136.. all can actually operate at poor frequencies and do without DD and are doing fine..

325 and 372 dont need DDs my dear boy.. The SDs in the fleet is enough to cover the demand..

Ah! Feeder Service 225 I know most. The reason why 225 cannot use DD's is because there are relatively narrow roads (two lanes only) and sharp bends at Bedok North Street 3.

372 I suspect is because of not too much popularity.

Something different from this question. Service 68 cannot use DD's due to low popularity, although it's the only service to the industries in Tampines. Recently, Darts have begun to do cameo on 68 for AM and PM Peak hour.

I agree. Height restrictions and moderate loadings are the key fators for a DD not being used. Turning wise, a DD is just as good as a SD. If a normal SD can make it, a DD can too. 61 is a good example because during SBS times it had DDs, ADDs even, turning into that narrow stretch of road.

the word is DEMAND, not popularity. It may know all of the bus routes in Singapore but I dont take all of them. Rolling Eyes

For you info, Service 5 IS ABLE to use DDs. Just trim some leaves along Old Tampines Road will do. The narrow roads are navigationable. Tell me how Service 61 under SBS is able to use DDs at C'wealth Drive (Tanglin Halt Estate)?

I think since they serve the CBD area, NAC buses should be avoided

I think those svs that has problems with arriving on time be it brunching or arrive too early daily should be given NAC deployment, these kind of services I dun even believe it's profitable

u can board 222 to take a look..

anyway, DD on the hougang feeder was never popular when it had VO2x last time... no one wants to climb up and down..

but then.. the VO2x were there not due to loadig factor Mr. Green

mauybe 291 DD was removed due to no one wants to go upstairs
