Ferrari_RoXz SG Has anyone noticed the occasional “beeping” sound in the B9TLs coming from the dashboard area? Anyone knows what is the purpose of the beeping?
Ferrari_RoXz SG Nah, veri unlikely...Public Transport Buses always have speed limters in them. Besides, these sound only appear when the bus is slowing down or moving off...But sometime it appears at crusing speed too...Strange...
The_Bus_Guide SG I believe that’s the sound that comes when the BC turns on the direction indicator light (turning signal).
Ferrari_RoXz SG You are very sure it is the turn idicator? Sounds too loud liao. I personally think that it comes from 1 of the 2 "High Tech" blue box which is placed beside the driver. Maybe the beeping comes on if he is running late on shedule? Or some EZ-Link card reader funtion that is only present in the B9TL. Thats just my personal opinion. Hope some SBST mechanics can tell us what that beeping sound is.
SBS9888Y SG it is...cuz i look at driver each time he signals left or right the sound is out..heres a tip when u take the b9tls...sit at the first floor near the front wheel there then juz watch the driver k?
Ferrari_RoXz SG Got to agree with your point there. I noticed that whenever the driver pulls into the bus bay or getting out there will be this sound. But i think it is way too loud if it is a turn indicator. Can be very irritating, esp for the driver. 2nd deck can hear the sound already i dunno how the bus driver can tahan whole journey... Hats off to them PS: I will take note of when the sound will come out the next time i take a B9TL, be it commuting or taking a joyride.

SBS9888Y SG its maybe because inside the b9tls are very quiet...but b10tls indicator the sounds is close to nothing...
Ferrari_RoXz SG I haven't sat in a B10TL yet... There is no B10TLs near my house...But alot of B9TL.... Must take a ride in the B10TLs one of these days. From what i observe, the B9TL's engine sound nicer from the outside than the B10TLs. Maybe it is becoz of the turbo present in the B9TLs.
Ferrari_RoXz SG U mean places to find B10TLs?...or B9TLs... I know that the above few areas u mentioned have alot B9TLs...( I live in that area ). But cant realli seem to spot B10TLs.... Alexendra Rd? Have or not ah? S 111 i think have...But now cant see le.
SBS9888Y SG head down to HarbourFront catch 65 or 143 or 166 (9889U) with perm B10TLs or an easier way is to go to AM/BR/BN area or head up to Clementi and catch either 154 or 166 i know 196 may get cameo B10TLs... juz fyi B10TLs acceleration isnt as good as the B9TLs and in many other ways.. the only thing i prefer about B10TLS is their quiet inside esp upper deck and the interior built by Volgren is so much better than the ComfortDelgro bodywork in B9TLs woa...ComfortDelgro bodywork like waste alot of space leh
service_238 SG I recommend you the following places for B10TLs 1. Bedok (S30 S25) 2. Tampines (S28 S31 S65 S72 S81) 3. HarbourFront (S30 S65 S143 S166) 4. Toa Payoh (S28 S31 S56 S143) 5. Hougang (S72 S161) - or Hougang Ave 3 (between Upp S'goon Rd and Tampines Rd) - S25 S72 S81 6. Boon Lay (S30 S154) -- recommended durong peak hours 7. Ang Mo Kio (S25 S76 S133) Do note the only B10TL on 166 is 9889U and DOES NOT operate throughout the day.
SBS9888Y SG the remaining services i suspect that will get Volvo B9TLs are 14, 25, 65, 132, 143, 174... i know one or two doesnt belong.. i know its either 14 or 65 that will get but more likely to be 14.. 132 or 174 may not get too
brotherchen1982 SG No need to suspect one... Once SBST happy, they will put the B9s on any Service they like... But 1 thing for sure, Services plying along Eu Tong Sen St are likely to have B9s.
