Does ABS make a sound? Do you know what is ABS in the first
place? The O405 has airbag suspension. As the bus goes over humps
on the road or when the bus is loading/unloading, the airbag will
get compressed/inflated and some of the air will escape. That is
the sound you hear.
OK, so ABS can also be translated as Air Bag Suspension, but the
whole world in general refer to ABS on vehicles as Anti-lock
Braking System. ABS uses wheel speed sensors to determine if one or
more wheels are trying to lock up during braking. If a wheel tries
to lock up, a series of hydraulic valves limit or reduce the
braking on that wheel. This prevents skidding and allows you to
maintain steering control.
