I think this bus wont be repaired as they are already reaching the end of their lifespan soon. Could be 3622L as i have not seen or heard about it recently.

Then in what state will a bus deemed as unfit to run on the roads? Such as severely damaged in a major collision ?

Take SBS 2648U for example. It suffered serious damage to the radiator/engine. The damage to the vital part was probably written off, so it was deemed unfit for use on the roads and had to be laid up. Bad news is, SBS 2648U lay-up period has been extended to 18 May 2008 (about 1 year later).

For something more serious, take the recent SBS 7253S fire (which occured on the same day SBS 2648U suffered serious damage to the radiator). The damage to the body of the VO2X was written off so badly that it had to be scrapped.

2648U died-ed much earlier than 7253S. 2005 and 2007 got a huge difference you know.

Engine & radiator damaged means it has to wait for new engine & radiator to be purchased and fixed into it , but then now its too hard to get the engine for Volvo B10M MK4 , unless the mk2s has the same engine + same radiator , at least 2648u can use them , if now SBST will have to take time to folk out the money to buy engine & radiator for 2648u & you guys noe how expensive it is.

By the way , 691g lay up has expired , where is it now? transferred to other depots?
