High torque and high speed is all well and good, as long as you
have good enough brakes to stop. For me, I go off suspension,
handling and power at all rev ranges, and mimimal turbo lag.
Non-turbo O.405s with ZFs would be up there, as well as the
O.405NH, B12BLE and B10M. The B10M handles well because the weight
is evenly distributed with the midmounted engine. The O.405s I find
can be a bit too light at the front, which can be a bit of an issue
in the wet.
Examples which are a little scary would be the Atlantean PDR1A/1R
which has basically got single decker suspension and brakes. They
went like a scalded cat, but just would not stop! The AN68/2R
Atlanteans had a much more suitable setup which was more relevant
for the decker. Case in point!
