Chances are now that all the CSS buses are coming, it is enough to replace any 853 bus that is broken down .

Similar to the SBS DD topic, but this one is about which SMRT services can't use bendies.

I would like to know why 75, 171, 855, 961, 966 and 970 dont use bendies. Can someone explain to me why?

WHereas, I wonder why services such as 857 and 980 only use bendies on sundays and Phs. It doesnt help people who work on weekdays.

Maybe shortage of buses.

dont forget 77, 852, 853, 925, 926, 927, 950 and 985...

The original route 804 and 962 could not use bendy buses too, until their route was extended. 804 now loops at the rather-unused Yishun Street 41, while a special roundabout is constructed at Admiralty Street (the road route 962 loops at) to allow it to u-turn.

Technically, I think routes 858 and 965 are some of the routes that are not bendy bus friendly.

Try sending a bendy through Serrangoon Gardens. The existing traffic chaos will be times 100.

Service 173 also cannot use bendies due to Toh Tuck and Hillview Areas.

Service 975 is due to the LCK end , although every morning i see 975 packed sardines , hmm

Service 925 very obvious due to the Kranji Reservior CP

Volvo Olympian SG

Service 75 is i think the demand is quite normal but maybe packed during peak hours , same for 171 and 855 i guess

961 is maybe due to the Geylang Lor 1 exit , count out 980 because it uses the other exit.

What's with the which service cannot use which bus threads.

SBS DDs cannot run on which service has been done for a lot of times.

SMRT bendies cannot run on which service thread probably had its first appearance when TIBS was around.

If you want to know which bus cannot run on which service, just look through the threads.

bendies are a road menace Laughing

171/855 can use bendy

Volvo Olympian SG

In fact i think someone here mention there were only 1 bendy on 855 , and its 1 trip only.. hmm..

TIB1049L SG

Yes. svc. 855 got one bendy when 4x Box mErz broke down. Thats was wad I read here

I remember the first ever bendy of SG TIB838H was posted to 171 when it arrived at SG.. 171 no bendy because of lack of demand...Especially at the stretch of Yishun and Mandai, rigid enough liao, no need bendy. Very Happy

855 i dunno.

stooper SG

985 bendy happened before.

Volvo Olympian SG

Yeah , use to see it every morning peak hours.

TIB1049L SG

svc. 950 sure won’t have even if demand reach there – Bendies & DDs are not allowed in Malaysia

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Are there any SMRT buses serving Serangoon Gardens? I knew of none...

busmanic SG

its all because of the sv-es's demand.

sv 75/171/855 - rigid can do the job
sv 966 - unhealthy load, rigid can already
sv 857/980 - heavy demand during weekends/PH but not on weekdays thus, rigid can do the job

TIB1018B SG

Service 980 should also introduce 1-2 bendies on weekdays too, ever noticed a packed to door service 980 heading towards Geylang in the evenings Shocked

TIB1018B SG

Services 77 and 970 got to do a U-turn at Bt Timah Rd before entering 6th Avenue, hence bendies are not used on these services Wink
