Not really true. Svc. 900 BCs wave to the other 900 BCs, but they don't ever wave to any 962/912/913/964/858/965/969/911/901 BCs. And its not always everytime when Svc. 900 BCs wave to each other (might be the possibility of 901 BCs mixing up with 900 BCs)

Seen before sv93 BC and sv163 BC wave to each other and btw some of the BC driving the same service may not wave to each other as well.

Some look out for the BC, if don't know them, they'll ignore, if know them, they'll wave

Yeah, if you take 179, you'll see the some of the 179 drivers waving to the NTU shuttle bus drivers! Shocked
They actually haven't talked to each other before, but they just wave since they always see each other! Shocked

This reminds me of a similar incident! Somewhere end of last year, one of the pro 179 BC was driving a DD on svc 199. He managed to catch up with a 199 SD in front at the same junction. At the traffic light, the 179 BC point to the shortcut way with a confused look because the SD was turning right. I couldn't see what the SD BC replied but then the 179 BC laughed and then he floored the accelerator and took the shortcut! Laughing I think he was way ahead of schedule!

BTW, off-topic! Why I am seeing more and more buses taking the long cut instead of the shortcut to BNL Int!! This happens to svc 30,249.

to think of it....i might have to adjust my conclusion abit yeah... Laughing ...cos last night when going back home taking svc 63 on MB0405 WA , while going uphill on redhill rd there's another svc 63(MK4 strider) going downhill and the opposite BC have actually waved to our side BC...never take note of how our BC respond though....

secondly for just now i was taking 63 on the very same bus same rego as i took last night towards national lib when the bus stopped beside svc 16 on traffic junction before exiting tiong bahru rd and svc 16 turned left . both BCs actually greeted each other and doing gestures ...take note that my bus is a BRAM bus and 16's MK3 is a ARBP bus though.. Rolling Eyes

LOL! I haven't see any short-cut drivers take the long cut yet... Laughing Maybe they want to waste time?

BTW, I also haven't seen any 172 drivers take the short cut too!

I think u didn't knew that 172 DID take short cut , i still remember onboard an 0405 OAC on 172 , the BC took the short cut to BNL. Quite amazing Very Happy

Cos of that short right turn lane along Jurong West St 64 & has to wait for the bus left turned from St 64 for commuters to alight, wasted a lot of time during peak hrs so BC as well take long cut instead... Confused

Actually most of the time, the short cut took longer time to reach BNL Int... Laughing

Just now I saw BC on SBS 0588Y of Service 28 making eye contact with a Townlink 291 BC SBS 0813Y(suspect). Seems that they appear to be saying hi on the roads.

Hey there everyone.

Honestly speaking, everything depends on human relations. We see SMRT and SBST staff greeting and chatting with each other because some of them may have already known each other long time ago. (For your information, there are former BCs from SBST in SMRTB and former SLs from SMRTB inside SBST)

Why most bus drivers from both sides dont greet each other is because well.. When you meet with strangers, wont you approach with caution even though you may want to be friendly with them? The same applies. And dont assume that they are from the same bus companies, they will be friendly with each other. Some bus drivers even though they are from the same companies dont greet each other because they may not feel pleasant being with another colleague, sometimes because of off-the-job reasons.

It all depends on human relations. All and all.

And observe. There are different gestures that bus drivers use to communicate with each other. Not just saying hi Wink
