Do you mean exhaust pipes or exhaust emission? Erm for your info, exhaust emission and emission are about the same. However if you improve the exhuast pipes and its system , you will improve the engine performance as well Mr. Green
As for preserving of buses, for SMRT, i would like them to preserve the Volgren Merc , both rigid and bendy. The bendy ones has my most favourite engine noise(with ZF gearbox only), especially when at the Woodlands underground interchange, pure noise ! I think they are cool buses Cool As for SBSTransit, they should preserve the Scania N113CRB OAC,CAC,NAC(quiet) , the Tridents(powerful) and of course, the VSOs(I like its radiator or engine sound)!

Personally I like the Volgren Merc of SMRT as well, especially TIB966X, very good bus...
I don't really know about the Scanias and their emmisions though, but all buses seem cool to me too...
LTA does not support mobile home licenses, partly because Singapore is too small, but I do have dreamt about driving a modified Volgren Merc across Asia continent, to be the first person driving a 12m city bus to Europe etc, quite complicated though, people have done it with vans, bicycles, motorcycles, trucks, cars, tuk-tuks (Finnish man), why not with a bus?

Or what about the Volgren bendy(SMRT)? At the back shall be the cooking area (utensils and cutleries will be stored there), front shall be the TVs and sofas. However i wouldn’t want a long distance bendy bus, partly because of its suspension(anyone noticed how a bendy bus moved up and down when it passed through a big bump, especially when at high speed?). I would prefer a long bus(15m) instead, like the SBS997A, or even better, a double decker modified to look like a long distance coach, such as the Tridents!

erm,very expensive you know to drive a bus to malaysia.Getting the permit is damn expensive. I thought i saw this ad somewhere sbs selling their MK2 away. If i have the money, i'll buy the MK2 (DM) CAC clean it, get the aircon working, REMOVE THE SPEED LIMITER! Smile apply permit to enter malaysia and den invite friends go on holiday on the bus. Oh i also forget, get a new set of tyres because rethreaded tyres not quite safe for long distances trip.

if u all say this statement when u all are adults or retirees with loads of cash, it may be possible..

but u still need to clear the government's regulation, and thats not very easy.

Yes, there was an ad long ago, before they refurbrished their website.

In the old SBS website (before they changed the name to SBST), there were also ads for selling LO2x, Atlantean and the Bendy buses
