To add on, service 59 (AMK-Jln Kayu) was extended to Sengkang via TPE in early 1999 and was then renumbered to service 866 by Tibs.

Service 866 was then handed over to SBS in July that year, after which the service was renumbered again to service 86 in the following December.

Service 85 reappeared again to operate between Punggol and Yishun.
Service 59 reappeared again to operate between Bishan and Changi Village.

During the mid 1990s before many services turned full aircon, 6935 and 6921 were on 97 while 6911 was on 143. 3570 was on 334 until somewhere in 1997/1998, 3571 was on 197 and 7113 on 30. 6980 was on 154 and 6985 on 157

I remember that there are few LO2x had been allocated in Ang Mo Kio depot for 70 & 107~~

I don't remember seeing this bus on 154. Would have recognised its engine sound that reminded me of its 3-axle cousins that came later.

3554 ever served 198 before it was cut short to BMR. Later on LAs dominated as BBDEP took control.

I kinda missed the Leyland Atlanteans… Haha… If I’m not wrong, sometime in the past when buses travelled from Kallang Road to North Bridge Road, they had to turn left from Kallang Road into this narrow and curvy lane that surrounds the outer perimeter of Kallang Gaswork. Whenever I sat at the upper deck of a LA on service 2 or 28 (I mean the old 28 between Tampines and New Bridge Rd), I was excited to see how the bus navigated through the narrow lane. (I dunno why I’m thrilled to see DD buses on narrow roads. Maybe as a child I was used to see DD buses navigating sharp narrow bends and tight corners and steep slopes in Hong Kong&#8230 Wink

Are you referring to Crawford St? That road is pretty wide.

Other buses with DDs that turned from Kallang Rd into Crawford St were 12 (LA) and 197 (LO2X, O305).

If they did, what kind of desto did they use? SBS(T) so far has not had rectangular plastic desto with green words on a white background.

Maybe they will use it when Mk IVs start serving on 170.

No... It's not Crawford St. The bus turned left before it reached Kallang Gaswork. If I'm not wrong, the old service guides (in 1990?) stated "Geylang Rd, Kallang Rd, unnamed road, Crawford Rd, North Bridge Rd, etc". I'll verify that when I reached home tonight... Haha... Wink
