XiaoTaro SG Press Release: http://www.smrt.com.sg/news/2006/07_08.pdf Route1: Outram Park MRT station to Chinatown Frequency: 12mins Route2: Dhoby Ghaut MRT station to Chinatown Frequency: 8mins Route3: Dhoby Ghaut MRT station to Little India Frequency: 15mins PA669B was seen operatiing Route3 today with 0 passengers Anyone tried it yet?
sbst275 SG Against the NEL When Svs like 190 and 960 cannot cope, they'd rather compete with SBS for that 80c fare instead of collecting at least $1.25 per pax from the 2 abv service 8 mins??? I might as well wait for NEL, 6 mins frequency
sbst275 SG Free or not free, isn't the case Why would I want to get out, wait in a hot afternoon at Dhoby Ghaut for 15 mins just for the free bus? Maybe by the time I board, NEL train would have reached Chinatown already Unless I take direct bus to Chinatown diff case
XiaoTaro SG Before i could take a snap shot of it, the bus already Vrooomed passed... Anyway, its pa lances, with a very colourful allover livery. EDS displays: SMRTLink Dhoby Ghaut - Little India.
[email protected] SG 4 reasons why SMRT can save $$$ by deploying CSS Nissans on this service: 1. It's depot is the nearest to Dhoby Ghaut & Outram Park Stns (Save fuel) 2. They should adopt a "Since this service dosen't benefit me, I shall give you the bare minimum" mindset. (No need to buy new buses) 3. The name CSS (City Shuttle Service) is an apt description of the nature of the service. (Save repainting cost) 4. Can convert to NAC Bus by just opening the windows. Some tourists prefer NAC too. (Save fuel)
sbs1688k SG You wouldn't... But those Aunties & Uncles going to Chinatown and those foreign workers going to Little India would... Haha! This is basically a counterattack to SBST NEL... SMRT wants to share the profits SBST reaps from the Chinatown and Little India direct MRT service... I don't think this will last for long anyway... With insufficient bus fleet... these PA Lances may end up get re-reged as TIB plates and furthermore, insufficient drivers to cope with as well... Silly bunch of people at SMRT... Recent silly acts of theirs includes 590, SMRT Link 1, 2, 3... As for 900A and 902, they sure know how to reap the profits riding on the opening of large scale education institute in woodlands... 902 are reaping profits with full occupancy on almost every trip...
XiaoTaro SG Hmm, i agree with u that NEL train will reach chinatown even before the bus reach or arrive, but there are those who board at either dhoby ghaut and want to get off at halfway, e.g bus stop o/s Shell house. Personally if i want to go selegie center or simlim from either dhoby ghaut or little india, this shuttle gives u direct access to selegie center/sim lim w/o needing to walk under hot sun. Treat it as a complimentary service by SMRT for using their train services.
SMRT Buses SG So for this Link Shuttle the buses used are Bus Plus right coz I saw it featured on the news yesterday & shown three Bus Plus for the three different links.
sbst275 SG Even so, at UE Square there's already Sv 64, 123, 139, 143 to either Dhoby Ghaut or Somerset.. Also 143 uses ADD, dun need to fear no seats in the case the 19 seater is packed To Little India, the boarding bus the same as for Sv 64, 65 & 139
SBS BUSES LOVER SG yes i agree . SMRT is doing all the crappy things just to agitate SBST . SMRT nothing better to do but to disturb others . cheapo company . well , SBST better buck up or SMRT might just eat them up , SBST svc standards are also dropping .
