I'm sick and tired of the stupid NAC MkII on Service 151 story.

Dear sbst275, you keep on bringing out old wine and trying to recycle the same old grouses again and again like a spoilt record. Aren't you sick and tired of it? And sbst275, if you want to air your views, may I suggest STOMP by ST, or Forum pages, or write to SBS Transit. I think these actions would be more useful than clanging and banging here on the forums Why come here and create unpleasantness.

Your part about compassion is very lame. SBS Transit is not running a charitable organisation. There are stakeholders in every organisation - passengers, staff, shareholders. No doubt the passenger is an important and major stakeholder, but SBS Transit also needs to account to its shareholders too, so they can't be running at a loss can they? They have their rationale for deploying the NAC Mk IIs on Service 151. Why waste perfectly good and operational buses? Besides, with the circle line going to be ready in 2008, there will be service rationalisations and all that. The company is already looking forward in their planning in terms of fleet. I don't think I need to give a word to word explanation on what I think they intend to do.

Look at SMRT buses, they have to resort to putting CSS registered buses so as to boost their fleet. Surely, if SBS Transit does away with all the NAC buses now and deploy AC ones now, where are they going to find the extra AC buses? Take buses from existing services, increase the waiting time for the services, how about withdrawing unprofitable services, rationalise routes etc? If they do that, you will complain. So tell me, what should SBS Transit do? I don't suppose you have the brains or aptitude of management, do you sbst275.

Anyway we are still lucky that we don't have venerable buses here in Singapore as compared to other cities in the world.

Also a note, if you don't like the NAC Mk II, don' t take it if you have a choice. Look for another alternative. If not Beggars Can't Be Choosers.

So stop ranting and raving as though you are some madman leader out to oppose. Enough is enough!

I totally agree. But let him be, I'm happy to spar with this highly educated university student who knows so much about the way things are run in the fine country he lives in. I already noticed the recurring NAC 151 bus theme, but hey, he keeps replying, so I keep posting. The more complaints there are, the more I'll produce the facts which will discredit the skewed argument. Let the argument continue. If the general enthusiast community thinks that bus services are provided for their convenience, then more of these arguments are going to continue.

Here's my spin on it all. Come the completion of the circle line, watch the bus fleets really start to get reduced. Just watch... you heard it first right here, from me.

Be it MK2 or Nissan UD, i’m not fussy. I just board them. It’s not about comfort. It’s about getting to my destination. Furthermore, i’m only paying a dollar plus so i cant be expecting much. That amount cant even get me a proper complete meal in singapore.(not even my school)

Talking abt fc... SBS is trying to delibrately increase the fc on 151 by overloading the buses.

Anyway, no explanation is made as to what is meant by diff fc for a same bus model when they serve trunk and feeder rts?

The fare diff no one wants to admit it, you rather support SBS for any fare hike. The prob isn't just to 151, there's a whole long list of svs having the same problem

I've tried to feedback to SBS over many times yet nothing is done and now NAC CRBs are given extn, which makes me no wonder why Singapore cannot have high service standard... Cos ppl that have links with operators like SBS are now showing that other than being irresponsible by overloading the buses, they abuse the power on a/c deployment

I won't say that anybody is wrong, but I find that I always leave NAC MKIIs with ringing in my ears, man, how I wish for NAC CRBs instead if I have to be stuck with NACs.

Can you please stop ranting & raving because you start to sound like an 'idiot full of sound and fury, signifying nothing'...and it makes you appear like you're on the brink of insanity.

What do you define high service standard? What do you know about service? Do you think you can do better than the management of SBS Transit? I have my reservations about it. Anyway, different people perceive 'standard of service' differently. Honestly, we are still lucky in Singapore. We have a majority fleet of air-con buses as compared to other countries.

And I have to caution you about what you said, about the people abusing the power on a/c deployment. If I report this to SBS Transit, I wonder if you would get into trouble with them or not. So please watch your words carefully and I hope the topic would end here. If you insist on carrying on, and someone brings this matter to SBS Transit, I don't think it would look too good on you.

And it makes me wonder if you have a car, and you are not a regular commuter on Svc 151, what's your purpose of haranguing the forum over this topic? If you need to air your grouses, find a more conducive outlet, alright, Straits Times forums or Zaobao forums maybe?

And I would kindly suggest to you to get some other hobby. Something more conducive and beneficial for your well being. Spending time on trivial stuff and a lot of time on the forums isn't beneficial to you. Maybe you might consider doing a course or something like that to upgrade that brain of yours.

This is not the way to determine clones, it must be a XXX process. But i agree that catching clones here isnt as easy as catching clones in another forum.

Sv151 already improving, got more ACs recently and a few with perm sticker.

Erm, sbst275, this thread is talking about a Scania being killed. Or maybe transforming it into a "i-hate-NAC MkIIs-on-svc151" shows how highly educated one is.

If you care to look back at the history of local universities like NTU, you will notice that students actually demonstrated and petitioned and what not over the introduction of Aircon buses on campus services as they pay more per trip. Not everyone uses concession stamps, you know.

Count yourself bloody lucky to have svc 151 as a SBS Transit service where they actually have such mkIIs (which are still such reliable workhorses) for you to board and arrive in school on time. Count your lucky stars you don't depend on SMRT Buses, where their motto seems to be "you are very lucky to have a bus service in the first place so don't complain much".

Let’s face it. SBST has NACs. Choose the lesser of 2 evils. You want them to be deployed on a CBD service like 14??? You’ll get more complaints. So put it on a svc where NACs will be appreciated, PARTLY because you pay cheaper fares. Win-win situation for you you also cannot see. Pay less for same destination. What crap on a/c bus stamp. You buy to save $$$ what. Flat fare. Does it make diff whether you save $24 or $28 due to NAC or AC? Don’t talk like this. Irritating. Very irritating. I think you are just biased or something against the depots. I don’t hear many complaints from others about SBST’s NACs…. At least you didn’t get SMRT 151. Hispano CAC O405 known to have a/c malfunction, and if suay suay windows sealed, worse right? Not only that, if you like a/c so much, since you have some sort of bus stamp you are mentioning, a/c stamp or something like that, make use of it and make transfers!!! So stupid, never use brain one.
