The_Bus_Guide SG There's a few more terminals not listed. Anson Rd Prince Edward Commonwealth Ave Ulu Pandan Lower Delta Bt Timah Upp Bt Timah Rd (near Bt Panjang Circus) Sembawang Rd (near Nee Soon Camp) Labrador Paya Lebar Airport (Jln Ang Teng) Holland Rd (Fringe Car Park) Delta (Fringe Car Park) Boon Lay Garden Marine Parade Upp Changi Marina Centre Jln Eunos (End) Kaki Bukit Malay Settlement Serangoon Garden Upp East Coast
SBS9611D SG Anson Rd and Prince Edward were superceded by Shenton Way. Commonwealth Ave services later shifted to Buona Vista and Ghim Moh. Svc 390 used to operate from the fringe car park at the corner of Holland/Pierce Rds. Delta Fringe was also referred to as Delta Circus, am I right? Since when did Jalan Eunos have a dead end? Upp East Coast was built to replace Marine Parade. However, only svc 13 was amended to terminate there. Others still loop at Siglap. When SBST came up with svc 48, it showed they were equally capable of making the other former Marine Parade services terminate at Upp East Coast too.
105090 SG used to remember 268 used to terminate at the 2nd stop inside ind park 2 area.. there were 3 parallel berths for it
bluezombie10 SG Jalan Eunos (end) Terminal used to have 2 services originating there, svcs 50 and svcs 51. (if i'm not wrong)
alex_cai92 SG fliping those 1974 fareguide, i tink it is call Jln Damai Ter. ....anyway those terminus listed by The_Bus_Guide i haf them by dun wanna post bcoz the guides at tat time is sooooo inconsistent....so i dun dare post...later post wrongly....
CAIX SG The bus bodyworks that was used last time: Hawke NZMB (New-Zeland Motor Bus) if i'm not wrong BAco Metal Sections Soon Chow Anymore ?
The_Bus_Guide SG This was a very long time ago. Its not really a dead end but rather the end of the main road. Thereafter was a small track called Upper Jln Eunos which led to the Jln Eunos Service Reservoir. Jln Eunos was longer then, reaching into what is now the Kaki Bukit Techpark.
The_Bus_Guide SG Last time the terminals do not have a specific name. Instead, they were named after the road (and their landmarks) where the terminal was located. Sometimes, the different names were actually pointing to the same terminating point.
The_Bus_Guide SG Walter Alexander, Duple Metsec, Strachan, Supreme Star, Van Hool, East Lancs, Fuji, Chua Heng. NZMB = New Zealand Motor Bodies Duple + Metal Sections = Duple Metsec
The_Bus_Guide SG Yes, there were NZMB bodied OF1417. In fact, there were more NZMB ones; 130 units as compared to the Hawke with 99. Apart from these 2 bodyworks, there were also the demonstrator OF1417, SBS 3366B, with Soon Chow body and the lone Supreme Star model, SBS 1617R.
cool_elf SG What services were OF1417s deployed? Most of AMK services used those buses right? Really missed them. The sight of OF1417s in TIBS livery still blew me away. They were used mostly on YIS feeder services right? I like the NZMB ones. The roaring engine sound when OF1417 slowed down was music to my ears and still is! SBST O405's acceleration sounds a bit like OF1417 though. Fond memories... OF1417 was truly one of a kind!
iveco SG The NZMB OF1417s rather resembled the B57s, except the latter didn't have a door for the SC. He had to climb over the huge engine compartment to get inside the driver's cab.
The_Bus_Guide SG The BC didn't have to climb over the engine to drive the B57! There is a small opening to the rear of the driver's cab between the engine compartment and the cab partition. The B57 was a little longer than the OF1417. It had an extra small window right after the entrance door.
iveco SG Well, it seems my memory failed me this time. But I am sure there was one kind of LA which had an electronic advertising screen just behind the staircase. Was it the DM one?
The_Bus_Guide SG Well, it happens once in a while. I guess the possible provision for the opening was due to the B57's smaller engine. But you're spot on about the DM bodied Atlanteans having those advertising thingies behind the staircase.
