All SBST buses speed [email protected] If the speedo can show something like 65kph then the BC must send in the bus for calibration. Else when accident is involved and found that the speed limitor not working, the BC who drove the bus will be in deep troubles. Cannnot blame workshop as the workshop staffs do not have the luxury of test driving every bus to check if it can hit above 60kph. I have caught BC who drove 80kph on faulty speed limiters of L3xle. I take extremely serious views on these safety gadgets. Because everyday our buses run on the road, must ensure no one dies or get hurt due to technical failures.

It's also not surprising that BC blame on the brakes not working during accidents. But workshop not stupid. In cases when BC say brakes suddenly not working... such things hardly exist. In fact to my experience, I think such things don't exist. Becos if air leak, the brakes can seize. One minute got brake, the other minute no brakes... Confused

Now I also find out a lot of Volvo B10M Mark IV (DM3500) also got strange engine. Like sitting 5 tunnel (ARmy Truck)

Then I must say that the LOs on 161 all have faulty speed-limitors bcos all run on SLE with speed exceeding 70km/h throughout most journeys. I don't look at the speedometer on the bus, I use my father's car to check out how fast they go. The record though, goes to 965 MB0405 at 85km/h. I love the LOs when they speed, they are very stable.

SBS 315T also had noisy engine.. dunno from the compressor or engine

Never trust the speedometer on your own vehicle 100%. Always use the SWD/brake roller tester that's been calibrated once a year to define the speed. While on another vehicle tailing the front vehicle, always give 10kph of errors off and on. But to be clocked at 80+ high chance there's something wrong with the speed limiter. The BC should be penalised for not reporting such an incident.

SBS340 may never serve 179. it is the superbuses on 242 and 179 that get shared. seldom will the merc SD get shared. however vo2x i spotted on 242 from 179 b4.

Almsot every type of SL bus has been x-overed to 242 from 179 before... VO, LO, Merc, Soon Chow, DM3500, MK2, etc...

242 has daily VO appearances, at night, from 255, which does 3 242 rounds.

I actually find that many of them (especially the newer ones) to sound quite futuristic. If you ever watched a science-fiction movie (example: «Gattaca»), and heard how those cars and vehicles sound like, you wil know. SBS Transit's Mercedes MB O405 buses with Voith gearboxes also gives me the same feeling Mr. Green .

lol. I once saw a trailer truck with a 20ft container trailer speeding driving at 90km/h Nissan dissel. You see the coaches from malaysia also same 90km/h. Dunno about sbs but sometimes i got take some ‘strider’ and can overtake some cars. hahaha. if got bus sound like a harley surely fun. And i also got see some lance keeps hissing every 2 seconds which is quite irritating.

Yeah... It has cameoed on 179 before..., but not an x-over.

Last time, on a MK2 on 154 (1738A) along AYE, managed to overtake quite a lot of trucks! Shocked
And also on 79, at night, along Jalan Buroh, can overtake quite a lot of trucks. I was on the only NAC MK2 on 79 and took only 25min from Jurong East to BNL...
