ComfortDelGro wants to look into SBS's service standard, corporate relations with customers and see what can be improved on

The cost is concern. Replacing all current SBST buses with those that have lower floors will benefit the disabled and the elderly, but the $1.04 billion will hit customers.

sbst275 SG

It isn't just this

There could be poor customer relations or others that are on the part of SBS

(From Straits Times)
SBST was criticised in recent weeks for long waiting times for buses, taking steps for improvements.

Once, a 68-year old retiree waited about 30 minutes for Svc 123 in Orchard Rd, when it should arrived about 15 minutes. SBST should put more buses since tourists were asking him.

sbst275 SG

This one I can't say because it could be due to the regular Orchard Rd bus crawl whenever Christmas nears

Apex-LW'21 SG

Bus drivers are expected to drive safely, ensure fares are paid correctly, and show concern for the disabled, elderly & the young. BCs will face people with different moods.

If one of these function fails, people will start to criticise SBST.

2 major grouses by commuters:
Long waiting time
Resent in having to squeeze into overcrowding buses

What i can say is that Singaporeans are asking too much…

SBS1985C SG

I agree ( I am S'porean Embarassed )

brotherchen1982 SG

Me too Embarassed

I had a dipolma Quality Assurance Engrg-part of course told me that good service quality n customer service is hard to achieve in service-oriented workplace of the current era.

But S'porean is demanding too much that they think more unecessary complaints=better services... Evil or Very Mad

SBS9828X SG

They cant ask for more. SBST had introduced lots of service…

SBS9828X SG

but then again, sbst shud at least limit the number of new service this year and get the B9tls to enter service quick

sbst275 SG

It is not asking too much or whatever

If you see it as a passenger point of view, at times sometimes the reasons given is really totally unacceptable. Like certain svs, SBS themselves failed to consider the traffic condition and ends up leading to many buses being late and overloaded.

Of course there are times that passengers are asking too much, as like CDG's Chairman has said, BC are human afterall and buses do complete with other vehicles for road usage

As for any introduction of bus svs, it is only fair that SBS be not allowed to introduce any new sv if any bus sv still faces regular overloading or service lapses

To think that I have once waited for Service 105 for 1 hours and 15 mins. Who else can beat that man?! Heh!

Apex-LW'21 SG

festive seasons are just around the corner, the bus will be crowded, so waiting time would be longer.

SBS9816E SG

Well... for what I have experienced, it happened during a normal peak hour. It ain't a festive season after all.

sinicker SG

festive season, peak hours, bus breakdowns, overcrowded buses... are not valid reasons to let SBS9816E wait 1 hr 15 mins.

SBS9828X SG

1hr? hell, i wud have given up hope Laughing

sBs_boy SG

I know why SBS9816E waited 1hr plus for 105.. i rememebr there was a time whereby Serangoon Ave 3 kena Flooding.. all buses was stuck..

sinicker SG

give the exact date? or a time range when this incident occured? so that SBS9816E can verify with the time he waited for the bus.

SBS9816E SG

For that... I have to back track to Year 2002. I was waiting for Service 105 from 1700 hours to 1800 hours, at the first bus stop along Braddell Rd after the flyover. It was a terrible wait. 3 buses bunched up together, with 1 more that came after 7- 10 mins.
