A service guide of Service 119

105090 SG

sv119 is getting a worse frequency than what it was introduced.. starting at 5-10 mins in introduction, its now 10-15 mins per trip, and today, at SKG, can see quite few pax board.. do 119 have more DDs during school days (eg. weekdays)?

gorby107 SG

yup the frequency waiting time now is very long the fastest about 8 mins and the slowest is about 20 mins which I am very pek chek. 119 have 1 DD during from Mon-Fri doing the S-shift abd sometimes on Saturday too doing almost one whole day shift but don't have during sundays. The DD is SBS 9662G

I see Sv 119 and 136 frequency have worsen over qtr..

Ya, i agree....once i went to see if there are 119 guides at Sengkang..but it did not put at the racks....i wanted to wait for the bus to come...but sent me home when it did not come for soooooo long!!! Mad

Is there new guides for 119? (2005)

105090 SG

funny, but 119 dont have a proper queue, like 965 and ex501 n 502.. the berths some got no metal rails for the outermost queues.. also, many ppl takes LRT to get to rivervale drive, no need 86 or 119..yesterday saw the DD.. last time 19 got many DDs.. ahh.. the rise and fall..

muziq bus SG

haha...will da hougang st 21 stop at the food ctr be changed? and when?

ZYX2005 SG

119 is basically 85 till kovan. SBSt withdrew 85
the outcry from students came.hey we want 85 to go to sch

SBSt shoots back 119.

sad to say the service is mainly for sch children and suffers from low demand. the DD is not worth deploying on 119 and shd be returned to 198

service 119 outght to operate during sch hours only.
weekday - 6am - 8pm
sat 7am - 3pm
sunday - no operations

if SBS dont intro 119, MP, PTC LTA all kplb to get their way.. no choice.. and id 119 becomes non-sundays, SKG ppl sure complain more.. like very fun.. its human nature.. complain and appeal to get your way.. anyway, looking at its sad load, 119 can:

School days (wk days): 0630 - 1900 Freq: 7 - 15 mins
School Holidays (wk days): 0800 - 1900 Freq: 20 - 40 mins
weekends: 0800 - 1900 Freq: 15 - 25 mins

SKG ppl have LRT to rivervale drive, sv80, sv136 to kovan etc. they should not complain if 119 eventually get chopped or amended

sbst275 SG

I think MP KPKB... I suspect the TV news, someone is behind all these...

There are much more worst bus svs running around and never caught

sBs_boy SG

For this.. i do not really agree.. 119's load is consider okay in a sense that it is about 3/4 in the evenings/ nightz.. some of the ppl take 147 / 107 / or 153 from work then they alight at Upp Serangoon Rd then transfer to 119.. much more cheaper if they take a bus > NEL > SGKLRT although itz faster, but itz not cheap.. Secondly, like what ive said before.. Bus is alwayz a Top choice if talking about a transport which is more point to point..

SBS9889U SG

Maybe shorten last bus to 2200?

105090 SG

yeah i agree.. for short distances, bus is faster, with the fact that, commuters need not walk to the MRT station, wait for the train etc. consider this:
132 from HG ave 2 to AMK station
MRT from AMK to Redhill
132 from Redhill MRT to Bt Merah Interchange.

eventually u take back sv132, and you made some costly transfer in the hope of saving time..

same as what sBs_boy said.. and, how come LRT isnt considered part of the rail network and ppl have to pay seperate fares for it?

sBs_boy SG

this is because, when they first built the LRT system, it was suppose to act like a Feeder Bus service.. the LRTs are actually considered as another mode of transport instead of part of the rail system...

sbst275 SG

Talking abt LRT...

Isn't Sengkang East LRT has the best ridership?

sBs_boy SG

In a sense, YEs..

gorby107 SG

No sorry It does not have it. The latest one is on 25 Sept 2004 which now can only be found in the bus which have only a few and not in Senkang Interchange at all since which is very long already

gorby107 SG

If they shorten the timing is very troublesome as that time still got people take the bus even though low ridership which is better than don't have at all. I think that on sunday 119 should start operating on 0530 and not 0600 as the at Serangoon Jc that side the first bus would reached there at around 0635( which set of on 0600)and also Sv 136 and the first bus for 80 is around 0640 then how about before 0630 if you want to get to Senkabg Int or your school in the area where 119 and 136 serves must changed bus which is to take to Hougang Int then take whatever service from there. So hope that on sunday the time can be earlier but put a longer frequency can already
