You are just going back to the days of 16 and 16E.. Reason that
they dont wan to continue using 16E was because at that time,
passengers / tourists going towards Changi often mistake 16 as the
one going into Airport.. While the other hand, ppl going towards
Marine Parade often mistake 16E as the 'Express' Service to Marine
Parade skipping Stadium / Old Airport Rd area. Thus, in order to
end the confusion, Then SBS decided to split the Service into 16
and 36. the 36 now is almost the same as the 390 in the past except
that it turn into Suntec City area instead of plying Marina Sq
(390) and instead of Expressway all the way, 36 turn out into
Marine Parade Area before continue itz route to the Airport.
