Just because these services connect Bt Panjang and Woodlands together doesn't mean they can be withdrawn. What about those passengers coming from other areas?

It is also $2.06 for 171 ---> 138 connection (service 171 before BKE to Mandai Rd after Mandai Lake Rd, then service 138 to Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 Blk 700B).

the thing why smrt or sbst did not introduce a service from the north west to central singapore is because of the demand. Not many people would travel from toa payoh/amk to bt panjang/woodlands. Unless u can bring this matter up to the MP of the area with support arguments for the need of this direct service, i dont think sbst or smrt would introduce it soon.

Should have raised it to the MPs before the takeover back in 1995. From what I noticed, SBS routes handed over to Tibs became sort of "untouchable" and Tibs-controlled estates retained most of their services, with little addition or enchancement of the route group.

Personally I would see smrt not implementing because they want bp residents to take trains, to fully utilize their mrt and lrt.

And sbst not implementing because ptc forbid them from implementing one that cut into smrt territory.

It may be true that there isn't sufficient demand in pre 1995, I doubt with all the new blocks and units, the demands still sufficiently low.

SBST will be more than happier to ply roads betweens bp and central singapore, then running empty dd city buzzes within central singapore.

Both BP and YT are little enclaves bounded by reservoirs. Unless there is a road that cut through the peirce reservoirs (which is deemed impossible), else BP probably got to wait for the new BP MRT lines.

Anyway, I do agree that BPJ wasn't well-settled back in 1995. But when Tibs took over, they left things much as they were and made little improvements to the BPJ route group.

for example the 2 SBST in woodlands : 161 and 168 are granted in exchange of 965 and 969 in Sengkang and Tampines respectively!

sv 67 originally is from SBST (SBS), had to handover to SMRT (TIBS) as services in CCK n BB were handed over a few years back.

Uncle.. 67 was EX-SBS service.. because of handover of CCK from SBS to TIBS... so 67 was cross over to TIBS NOw SMRT.. same case as 77, 106 ETC ETC....

Both 61 and 67 were Ex-SBS Service.. after the handover, it was transferred over to TIBS.. and that time, in exchange, TIBS was to handover SengKang and Punggol BACK to SBS. that was why service like 103, 82 was SBS > TIBS > SBS....

I remember 163 also. SBS >> TIBS >> SBS >> SBST.
59 >> 866 >> 86. From SBS to TIBS, then back to SBS, and SBST now.
