If what you mentioned is true, then where do the buses stop? Why are the Scheme B plates put up at bus stops then?

Referring to your sentence, for example, why Sentosa and Ngee Ann Poly shuttle services can use HarbourFront and Clementi interchanges respectively?

The Scheme B buses never uses the BS really, it is like the former 638, they stop at the back of the 3rd bus and leave after completing berthing and alighting there.

Sentosa buses got approval and this is sp case and they need to have somewhere to terminate

As for Ngee Ann poly, sp case to me as well, it is only applicable to the morning peak hrs

I have saw for myself scheme B buses entering bus bays to pick and alight pax. So your statement is not correct in my opinion.

Unlike at Upp Serangoon Rd where the former 638 has to queue with 6 buses. Of course the driver will just try to cut as he is not willing to wait as he may have other trips later on.

Ngee Ann Poly shuttle can use Clementi cos:

1. it is a chartered svc and thus not under PTC regulation, but jus need licence from LTA.

2. the company providing the service, SBS Transit, has control of Clementi Interchange.

yeah, cos mrt can't serve everywhere, there is a need for buses to finish up the 'missing link'. there is a need for mrt stations to have infrastructure to allow mrt-bus transfers. the nearest bus stops (with buses) are quite far away at xilin ave (35) and upp changi rd east (12, 24, 38 ).

Proximity of Bus Stops to MRT Stations or Major Bus Transfer Stops.

# Bus stops should be sited close to the entrance of MRT Stations, and not more than 150 metres, exclusive of length of bus bay. Similarly, bus stops should be sited close to major bus transfer stops, preferably within 150 metres, exclusive of length of bus bay.

that is probably why the reason for the redundant pair of bus stops outside Expo Station.
