Why does it have to be like Eunos Int? btw, if building an iterchange, is the money paid buy LTA or the bus company?

Eh pls lor. CBS built a temp temp interchange in sembawang. If u want i can lease u the space there. The entrance is at the Sembawang Vista. CBS31 from Tampines and CBS71 from Sengkang terminate there now.

I am proud...Especially on the fact that SMRTB is getting a new interchange soon. It's about time.

There's only 1 problem. Even if SMRT has a new int, they dont have much services to introduce as...they don't have enuff buses Laughing

Is the new SBW Interchange replacing Admiralty Rd West terminal? This would mean cutting back Route 980. After all, the two places can be linked by Route 856 and 981.

Sembawang End terminal may have to stay as there has to be some connection along the whole stretch of road.

The situation there is different from the one in Punggol. This town is unique as some parts of the estate are quite old (Blks 1-7, much like Buangkok South Farmway estate now incorporated into Compassvale neighbourhood). However, it never had a bus interchange but got the MRT first. Even so, there were no feeder buses inside the town. A stark contrast to Sengkang as the latter had 371 and a temp interchange from the start, even though both towns are of the same age.

Well, SMRT buses is under SMRT Road Holdings- formerly TIBS Holdings.

It was mentioned last time that new feeder services will be introduced. Hence I deduced the following:

2 feeders will be introduced, one to Admiralty Rd West and one to Sembawang Rd End.

OR

1 feeder to cover Sembawang Rd End, and 981 to become a full day service.

I'm not so sure about 859 and 962 though.

Hmmmm I dun think so, for 2 reasons.

So long as 167 continues to pick up passengers from that particluar berth in Bt Merah Int, it is not likely. The bus drivers always find it difficult to U turn, given that the road structure at the interchange gives it very little space to U turn due to the stoopid position of the berth.

And at the Sembawang Road end terminal, given the small roundabout there, i think it is not likely.

Sv. 167 berth can be moved to where Sv. 124 used to be. It is also the same berth used for Sv. 851, and if the latter can get O405Gs, why not Sv. 167?

Yup I agree wif u, I meant to say that bendies are not likely if 167 still picks up pasengers from its current berth. of course the berth can be shifted, no problems there.

The feeders can go around the new town when all the flats are up. 859 and 962 can be merged to form 962 (WDL-YIS via SBW Int).

maybe one feeder will operate from Sembawang Int to Admiralty St to replace 962? coz Northlink and the schools there need a bus link

Of course. With Sv. 962 cut short to the new interchange there has to be a feeder to Northlink.

Hard to say, there's chances that SMRT Buses to use the 962/962A system, as in 962 and 962A buses come alternatively, with 962A plying Admiralty Steet.

But the chance of having a feeder for the sector is much higher IMO.

It would be another service that "duplicates" from Woodlands to Yishun, although by different route. I think they would either

leave the services as they are

extend both services beyond the respective interchanges (i.e. Yishun for 859 and Woodlands for 962)

merge 859 with other services.

I feel that chances of 962 staying intact is much higher than service 859. Just gut feelings.

Unchanged. Possibly amended to ply straight via Sembawang Way then Canberra Rd & Admiralty Dr (plying outside SBW MRT) before going to North Link via Sembawang Dr when the new bridge opens.

Service 980
Cut short to terminate at Sembawang Int

Service 981
Cut short to terminate at Sembawang Int

Hey, 93x is supposed to be for CCK feeders. I believe that the code for Sembawang is 86x/87x. The feeder service code might be 84x

tru, considering CCK uses 985. but sembawang uses 980 & 981 so i dunno wat's on their minds too.
