The locations and alignment for CCL phase 4 and 5 has been announced by LTA today. There will be 13 stations, of which 3 will be build later.

Toa Payoh Rise station just outside MCDS building? Hmm, that's interesting. And why a station in the middle of a CEMETERY, for god's sake? Future nonetheless, but how soon are they going to redevelop the cemetery? It could be like Woodleigh, build station first, open it later.

And also Holland station is SIMPLY too near Buona Vista station! One-North and NUH also.

The following services will definitely be withdrawn:

Service 95: BV to NUH
Service 91: BV to Ayer Rajah Crescent
Service 191: BV to Portsdown

The following could be affected:
Service 200: Kent Ridge to Holland Drive (loop)
Service 153?
Service 93?

Svc 93 could terminate at Serangoon (Not Again!) or Toa Payoh

Some services could be integrated.

One thing for sure. No services that ply Pasir Panjang Rd will be affected. That includes Svc 30 143 176 188 etc..

Svc 200 cant be amended - it's too short a route to be amended.

I honestly feel that not much amendments will be made when CCL Phrase 4 & 5 is opened. At most 8 Services will be affected. Smile

Holland station may be near to BV station, but it served commuters travelling along Holland Road. Its location allows one to make transfer along major road, Holland Road.

What's your definition of being near? One-North, NUH and Holland are some of the essential stops, if there isn't, one may still have to rely on buses to travel to those places. With NUH, at least I wouldn't complaint if they were to remove Service 95 then.

I am wondering, why aren't they building a station at Science Park 2/3??? If they ever build a station at Science Park 2/3 (along South Buona Vista Road), SBST shall face little opposition in remove service 200.

165 likely to be amended too as it duplicates Circle Line from MacRitchie to Holland Village….

it would be better if they have a station at NUS (central library), unfortunately there isn't.

Perhaps NUS might have its own LRT which link NUH to itself.

Remember the previous proposed Buona Vista LRT that connect NUS to NUH to BV and HV?

Possibly. But at the moment, NUS has a very good shuttle bus service (which I take everyday during my classes in NUS) A1/A2 which loops around NUS.

If that turns into reality, the route is very redundant. Maybe Svc 165 could be the backbone route of the CCL

In fact there is little duplication between 165 and CCL from Holland to Thomson. The only duplicate was from Holland Village and Adam Road (Serene Center).

165 provides connection between Clementi, Holland and Macritchie, Upper Thomson Road. 165 might cut back to run between AMK interchange and Clementi. However the route beween Holland V and Macritchie should remain intact.

well in the white paper of soem year i did notice the LRT lien rounning in within NUS. i do belif there are plans for the LRT to connect to NUH stn in the near 30 years future...for now its ISBs. which are free i might add

It's more likely that they withdraw 200 than 165. Service 200 is definitely running at a loss. Moreover SBST might be having a very hard time in maintaining the schedule arrival time at each bus-stop.

If they ever withdraw 200, I shall miss the long and windy route along South Buona Vista.

What could be your favorite bus route? Mine would be 200!

Get ready for another fare hike, just like the NEL.

Here are reasons:

1)The line is fully automated and it'll cost more to operate
2) Fully airconditioned more electricity need more money.
3) State of the equipment.

I'm just waiting for MRT staff to push the commuters into the train just like in Japan.

There is no alternative means of transport. Car is too expensive, bus services is being cut, no support to use bicycle.

I find that it's kind of strange that the motorcycle is not that popular here compared to in Thailand and Taiwan where it's very commom to see ladies riding one.

Let's not forget that you must have only one EZ link card and use it often or we'll have to pay more deposit to offset the cost.

4-question post..

i was wondering if Stages 4 & 5 are to be constructed and completed together in 2010, why split them up into 2 stages?

the only logical reason is the connection to Buona Vista being seen as seperate from Stage 5 but wouldn't it be easier to jus put them as Stage 4?

or they planning to open up to One North while taking their time for the rest?

or opening within months of each other but not together?
