For my experience in a small city in JiangSu, china, i tried to
tip but in the end they didnt accept, and even discount me. after a
few times, i dun tip anymore. Maybe it's just this area, i think
southern area like GuangZhou accepts tips.
the situation is like this, i call the gal for bill, she said
RMB174, so i think, just 6RMB, might as well dun get the change, so
that no need to keep so many coins in my pocket. So i give her 180,
and then i stand up and ask my fren to go off too, when i walk down
the stairs, the gal give me back 10, say 174 count as 170 can liao.
Then my fren laugh at me, say i want to tip them but in the end the
gal tip me.
in singapore, i tip the coins, just a few dollars is ok.
cos i believe that those "service charge" will never go to the
waiter's pocket.
