I HAVE to beg to differ.
Take for example svc 852, both direction during the time frame is
abt 17-25mins, sometimes even 30minutes! Even 2 Svc 39 buses had
passed b4 i see a UK Lance 245 limp into the berth!
It may be argued that similar SBST svcs are the same, but had
anyone waited for 20minutes to get a single deck on svc 74? No,
even then it is always a batch of DDs,.....svc 156 and 151 are
notorious for their long frequencies too, but chances are that u
will get another speeding Mk4 no more than 5 minutes after the bus
departs.
feeder service wise, TIBS is notorious for deploying 806 habits of
freq of 20mins during off peak....i dun think SBST does that. They
claim low demand, but the truth is tt many got fed-up waiting and
took svc 804 instead, until some residents sent angry letters to
the MP then TIBS resumed the normal freq of 7mins, cos the svc 806
matters are very volatile in my area.
TIBS has no more express svc so there's nothing to compare, anyway
SBST also puts up the estimated departure time.
SBST is also considerate enough to put up 2 boards at Yishun
interchange stating the departure times of svc 39 although there is
no need for them to do so by PTC's regulations, as the freq is abt
14mins, and on Sundays, there are trips with 10-11mins interval
near the evening......and similar plates on TIBS are far and few
between....any one saw such plates? Normally they are on very
infrequent svc like 177, and the best is 927 with a freq of
~20mins.
SBST also puts down the first and last bus departure for the nite
owls at each bus stop, but TIBS does not, and the freq of NR1
varies a lot from 10mins to an hour.
Hence, in conclusion of the facts presented, i have no choice but
to disagree wif ur assertion, and these reasons are also why i ve
chosen SBST to be service provider of the year.
