I checked the Tibs website..it seems to me that there abt 10 services whose waiting time is less than 10 minutes.

106/190/176 etc.

the mean waiting time is now 12 to 13 minutes..even for peak time.

sometimes u do get waiting times that are extra long...like i once waited for 106 for abt 45 minutes at BB interchange..then when i ask the driver, the driver told me no bus because jam...despite the fact i saw 3 buses goin back to depot...

On Saturday, there was a huge jam along Somerset Rd at around 6pm. It was so huge that my bus got struck there for at least 15 min. as a result some buses had the same service.

i do not really know how tibs operate bus service.it seems their bus is always caught up in jam.but surely it happens many times in the past and tibs should have taken extra care by putting extra bus in route that will caught up in jam and the long waiting time will not hae occured.

maybe u shall feedback to tibs through tibs website. i think why u waited so long for the bus is because due to low demand especially since 106 is cut short to marine centre.

Service 106 still has high demand, that's why bendy buses remain on the service.

Before Tibs took over control of Bt Panjang, the frequencies of its services are super long. Passengers can wait up to half an hour.

but maybe at that time when the sbs is operating ,the passenger not so many.but now there are so many passenger like in the case of 970 during peak hours,tibs should at least provide enough bus.

At Yishun, the customary poster was put up to advise pax to take alternatives instead of 171 cos of traffic congestion.

TIBS is always mis-using those posters to explain their long waiting time, and i kenna it b4 for my svc 806 when pax complained that they have to wait 20mins last yr.........how to have traffic congestion in a short feeder service ? Turned out tt they are saving cost and only using 1 miserable 0405. Why can't they just buy more buses? They normally introduce new ones and phasing out an equal number of older ones simultaneously

yeh i share your same view.tibs have not may have enough bus for all the routes they operated.i did feedback to tibs asking them when they are ready to buy new bus fleets but to my disappointed,they do not have at the persent moment.i personally think that they must have earned a lot of profit after sbs at that time handed choa chu kang and bukit batok bus service to tibs.also the miserable 700 plus bus fleets will not be able to handle unexpected large volumes of passenagers .hope tibs will really consider buying a lot more bus fleets like waht sbstransit did so there would be enough to meet passenager demand.

Not everytime the posters are hoaxes. There was once there was some kind of pipe laying construction going on at Yishun Ave 5 (towards Yishun MRT) and even though the number of buses on services 811, 856 and 859 are somehow the same, the waiting time was terrible. Seen 2 or 3 service 859 buses reaching Yishun in a matter of 10 to 15 mins.

but the frequency can be further improved from 10 to around 6-9mins as bukit panjang does not have mrt and relay on bus .by the way i also think tibs should buy new buses like sbstransit to improve on its effecienty and improve its waiting time. Very Happy

actually, i think the 700 bendies were formerly from 106. cos they cut back on buses after gg to marina. anyway i thot that tibs have about 20 spare buses according to some sources. So how can it be that they are not enuf buses.

Not necessary. TIB 1024H (WLDEP bus) cameos on Sv. 700 quite frequently. TIBS are getting a batch of new Scanias (L94UB?) so the bus woes should be somewhat solved. They will be for Sv. 167, from one of my sources.

there is great improvement for 167,856 and 980 frequency from 20 mins to 13-15mins yesterday night.even after 10pm,the frequency is maintained at 13-15mins.but will it continue to operate at the 13-15mins every night ,have to wait and see.anyone konws the sudden improvement for 167,856 and 980 frequency at night? i think what u are right .usually,at around 8:30pm afterwards,a few bus will go back to respective terminals naming admiralty rd west terminal and sembawang road end terminal and will go back to depot.these few days it seem most buses will continue to take passengers to bukit merah and gelyang lor1 instead of heading back to respective depots .hence there are more buses operating from these two services.for 856 ,its seems the same thing by exending the operating hours of those buses that will usually head back to depot after the trip to either interchange at around 8:30pm onwards.

Perhaps Tibs received alot of feedbacks from workers and residents. Somehow the frequency of services 856 and 980 gets slower after 10.30pm or 11pm compared to before 10.30pm. Or is it just my illusion? Rolling Eyes

i find that at night time,the frequency gradually increases .this is due to the buses returning to depot.as buses goes back to depot,one bus frequency becomes two buses frequencices and as more and more buses of the same services going back to depots,the frequnecy increase even further.

the simple answer to this is that SBS simply does not have that manpower enough to put traffic polix at every bus stop .

however svc 95 does have its monitorer at Bouna vista bus stop during peak. cna immediately deploy an extra 95 bus parking at bouna vista ter or AYBP if need to. i think the moiniter person has walkie talkie to communicate too.
