Hi! I thought I was the only person in the world with a craze
for buses!
I take service 133 to school everyday, and I know that they usually
send those Mercedes single deck (don't know the exact model number,
but I do know it is a very old bus), but one fine day, when I left
the school gate, lo and behold I saw a double decker, not a Leyland
bus (for once), and I quickly dashed to catch it.
Nice bus... The seats are slightly inclined backwards for passenger
comfort. It is designed so that when someone plumps his weight down
next to you, you stay undisturbed, unlike the previous buses (even
Volvo Olympian!). The air-conditioning was superb, but a little
cold since it was raining that day. I noticed that they left the
"Bus Stopping" sign there (it doesn't even make any sense to me)
instead of a simple red bar for the Volgren double deck
series.
I have not read up much about the bus, but from what I have
experienced, Volvo's done it again! For once, my bone did not creak
from stress like the ordinary days. Compared to the VSO, the
Leyland buses seem like an old grandfather! I guess it is the
suspension, they smooth out the bumps on the road, and I almost
fell asleep on the bus from the humming of the engine if not for
the fact that I was so excited. And yes, I remember the bus number:
SBS 9841 (forgot the last alphabet, but I think it's G)
So, is it true that SBS is replacing the Leylands with these
awesome VSOs??
