Hongkong cafe seems to be the "In" thing in Singapore
nowadays...
Adding to the growing numbers of HK cafe in Singapore is the one at
Orchard Cineplex, which I have just tried.
Located at the second level of Orchard Cineplex, it is not
difficult to find, with the striking deco...
The service was good..perhaps it is newly opened..lets hope it can
sustain the service level, but i would appreciate if the staff can
recommend me which are the "zhao pei" dishes...
Nonetheless, I ordered the authentic HK dish - Wanton Mee..and the
authentic drink - Ying Yong
Waiting time...15 mins...
The drink came before the food. If you have been drinking the ying
yong from yat kun or other local stores...u are going to foresake
those for this...it is good...but...if it can be a bit warmer, it
would be nice...cos towards the end of my drink, i realised the
sugar did not melt totally.
The moment that I have been waiting for...HK wanton mee....
i was abit disappointed when i 1st saw the wanton mee...cos the
size of the wanton is not as big as those in HK...
the taste...the soup tasted nice....the char siew...the pieces of
char siew literally melted in my mouth into little meat
floss...yummy...
despite the size of the wanton...the taste was good...the shrimp
taste fresh..and yes...u can actually tell that there is shrimp in
each wanton....not just shrimp paste or simply pork in local
wanton...
as for the noodles...it was a bit lumpy...
overall experience...i would give it a 3.5 out 5....cos there is
more i have yet to try....
