Yeah I've heard that one a lot from the young Singaporean guys I
know,aswell as a few other ones like:"Have you taken your food
yet?"
And being an aussie,I have a sense of humour ofcourse,so I always
go to say."Well where am I suppose to take it?" Or some other
stupid comment in reply,but I don't,because I might offend them,I
mean,I would only be joking if I said it,but I still don't want to
make anyone feel stupid. The proper way to say this ofcourse
is,"Have you eaten yet?" But it is only natural for the young men
to speak like this,as this is how they are used to speaking.It's
ok,aslong as the people they are talking to can understand it.If
they are taught the basics that they will need to know to get
through the big bad world in schooling,they can always learn
anything else they want to know themselves.
