Tcmc,1. And I shall again emphasize this. You demand for empirical proofs that miracles happened 2000 years ago. You claimed, at the very least, that miracle...

Demon Bane SG

no thats not trinity in Buddhism. its different. Buddhism is taking refuge in buddha, dharma and sangha. I am not sure if you can even call this trinity.

I'm not talking about the Trinity in Buddhism....some of my buddhist frens pray in the name of the past, present and future buddhas and gave thanks to them....of coz there are so many different schools of buddhism, so maybe we all practice differently...

despondent SG

Am I the bible? I wun dare claim such a title

Tcmc SG

Jesus himself said even the demons believe in God n trembled. Who said it? Jesus said it as the bible records. Not me

despondent,

refrain from using the word demons when talking about other religions.

its very unkind.

I never once said your religion is of the demons.

despondent SG

Wad abt salvation by grace? Is tat mentioned in the other religions? U dun have to keep reminding me. I was replying demon bane who apparently wasn't aware wad u n I were discussing regarding choosing my religion.

Jacky Woo SG

there are no praying in Buddhism. they must be confused. tell them to read and understand what Buddhism is, then they wont be confused no more.

anyway refrain from talking buddhist stuff here, as this is not a buddhist forum.

I have TOLD YOU BEFORE, YOUR UNIQUE POINT in the religion DOES NOT MAKE IT MORE TRUE.

EVery religion has its own UNIQUE point.

Example

Christianity - by grace, by faith, by works, by beleiving in jesus

Islam - by faith, by works, by belief that God is one, by acknowledging muhammed is the last prophet

Hinduism - by faith in the Gods, by works

Sikhism - calling, praying to the name of the Sikh God, by faith

despondent,

do you agree EVery religion has its own UNIQUE point.?

Demon Bane SG

Yeap....so u are a happy christian now? I'm happy for you....hope u find true peace and happiness in your chosen belief. I've found my refuge in the Buddha's teachings....and I'm spiritually happy and at peace....Hahaha!

despondent SG

So its wrong for me to quote wad Jesus said in the bible? I was juz pointing out tat to Christianity, believing sun equal having a r/s wif God. Many of the old folks believed in LKY in the past for wad he did for Singapore, does tat equal having a r/s wif him?

It doesn't matter to me cos I view it personally. And since I have chosen Christianity then reaching out is a commandment I shld try to obey. If on the other hand I chose Buddhism, then I wun reach out. I will juz be like demon bane.

BIC is on a monologue.

despondent isnt.

Both styles very different

Demon Bane SG

So all religions have a common goal....lead people away from ignorance and into happiness....if not, its not effective and we may have to find true happiness elsewhere....

despondent SG

Some ppl make religion bashing their true happiness.

BroInChrist SG

Another similarity is that some people believed and hinted that "pain is the pathway to higher consciousness" A thing early humans practice....(even before buddhism)....Also some priests do that? So did Jesus did the same?.....Hmmm....

Demon Bane,

The Bible teaches that pain, suffering, death are intrusions into the perfect creation. Such came about because of man's sinful rebellion against God's law not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Instead of depending on God and trusting what God said, man wanted to be independent of God and trust in the serpent to doubt the goodness of God. And the wages of sin is death. Today there is a lot of pain in this world. CS Lewis said that pain is God's megaphone to the world that He is there. Many think that the existence of pain reflects the non-existence of God. But the converse is true. The existence of pain is a reflection of a sin-cursed world, it is part of God's judgement on sin. And yet God is no stranger to pain. He endured the cross to atone for our sins. Through pain and death God in Christ brought about eternal life for all who would obey. Just as through one man (Adam) death came into the world, so through one man (Jesus the second Adam) life comes to all who would believe.
