Back to the same question: Is sillyme even considered the true owner of the forum?

Again, does it truly belong to him in the first place?
If everyone in this world do not allow their previous work to be shared by others, do you think we can reach the state that we are at now? This argument from you just shows plain selfishness as well as ignorance. If it was my own forum (which I have), I wouldn't mind if others took over because my main aim was to share knowledge and know liked minded people, and especially since if I were like sillyme to want to wash my hands off totally.

The name can always be changed. You can always ask Jason to do that if it is a big concern.

personally, i think it's about how admin has handled the situation.

obviously admin has the right to do whatever he wants to do. nonetheless, human decency would have allowed admin to go with what the forum starter wanted.

1)If you are washing your hands off the forum, why are you too concern about it? Isn't it obvious that plain selfishness is dominating your reasons now?

2) If sillyme is the one who bought the webspace and host the forum, then he is the true owner. Else, he's just using the forum space of Jason.

3) Seriously, this forum can be closed, and the threads moved to a new forum for Christians started by Jason. Won't that give the same result as now? Yet it will fulfill your decision... But is that necessary?

Doing all these is tantamount to someone who rather burn away $50 dollar notes than donate it those who need it more.

1. i am merely supporting the wishes of one who i respect and had enjoyed working with for so long. is this wrong?

2. by this definition, there are no true owners of this forum with the exception of jason, which means he has the right to do whatever he wants? therefore should we all go to him to have moderators approved?

3. what if the answer is YES?

the $50 is for me to burn, for whatever reasons I have, isn't it? if i have that note, whatever i want to do with it is my business isn't it?

May I susgest that we leave this issue between Sillyme and Jason to decide and agree on what to do next?

I am responding because like meow meow says, we are "outsiders"...

and from what I see,

you are right that respect has to be accord to the forum owner about his wishes to close down the forum.

Yet on the other hand, ultimate ownership does belong to Jason.

And also, there are people who does care abt the place enough to want to keep it open.

So by opening the applications for mods, Jason is choosing general people's happiness over the ex mods' wishes.

yup, the ultimate ownership does belong to Jason.... however it does not mean that he is in the best position to pick mods if the original mods wish to go away. also religious forums are sticky issues. if a wrong mod is chosen, the flame will even be hotter. the onus of selection of mod lies with jason.... so does it mean that if in the future the mod messes up, it's jason's fault?

it will be cleaner for another driven individual to start his own forum and makes his own rules. if the interest in Christian continues to be strong, this new forum should also grow.

...nonetheless my question about the interest level of EH remains unanswered.
