let me try to clear the tithing doubts ba...1st, tithing is a process where all christian should do...check out malacai 3:10...put all the tithes....and try Me for this...imagine...the bible says tat we are nt allow to challenge God...but in this verse...God is challenging us in the area of finances! It shows that God is a rich God and He wants His children to be bless as well..Offering is a free will giving...it is different from tithing...

Tithing is giving 10 percent of ur everything to God to show that you are willing to sacrifice..

I've tithe and gave offerings for the past 2 yrs as a christian...and i have been blessed back alot more from wat i have gave...Thank God for that..

malachi is refering/talking to the israelite who is in exile for their rebellion.
the israelite is living in the old testament ma. so the law of tithing apply to them lor.

Tithe is compulsory and is considered RETURNING partly of what God has given you back to God.

Offering is extra the 10%

offering = feng4 xian4
tithe= shi2 yi1 feng4 xian4

Seriously how come people think tithing is compulsory? In the New Testament .. the Apostle Paul did not sound like it is compulsory. He even said give according to your income. I think he said something like give cheerfully also.

Furthermore .. God is God .. it is wrong already to assume He lacks something and you can supply Him. Rolling Eyes

tithing is not compulsory la, even paul did nt mention to the gentile church.
he jus ask them (after consulting with the jerusalem apostles aka. jewish apostle) to live morally, dun eat food with blood in it, worship orderly la..etc.. (no time to quote the verse la)

if tithing is the standard for the new testament era, then paul will likely mention it. becos after the instruction to the gentile church, he added' there is nothing else' from me. this in effect seal any further added instruction not recorded in the bible. (or deem not need for the believers.)

it is not god that need the money. it is the church staff.

but then again, when the word ' tithes' is use, it refer to compulsory giving to God or else you own God.
in the first place tithing is not longer a applicable thing in the new testament.

firstly it is shi fen zhi yi.
And it means one-tenth as in Maths, has nothing to do with tithing.

tithing is shi yi or shi2 yi feng4 xian4. The reason for the latter is because too many people use shi yi and feng4 xian together, eventually, they get mixed up as one.

PS: feng4 xian4 =offering.

Tithing is returning to God .. we can agree on this.

But where does it say it is compulsory?
