Reservist NSman called up for first ICT at age 36!

last SG · 2006-09-06T21:30:00+00:00

How is he at blame for not...for what again? The blame lies squarely on the SAF for not calling him up earlier. I think his reservist unit needs a good talk...

CoolMyth SG

Still, if you had 4 years to clear 10 ICTs, anyone will be pissed. Laughing

I can't blame him yet I dun see how his complaint will end up positive for him. Wink

blowfish SG

omg, it been nearly 5 yr after i ORD but still not yet been called up..

OMG>>> Mad

Ponders SG

How do you clear 10 ICT in 4 years?

CoolMyth SG

I dun know. Laughing

blowfish SG

i think i better turn in myself...... Crying or Very sad

Gordonator SG

i better volunteer myself for ICT next year, hopefully every year after that as well. Laughing

blowfish SG

who is like me,, nearly 5 yr leh still no callup... Cool

monoslayer SG

wait for the letter when u r 36. Laughing

Ponders SG

Maybe this Mr Tan is a SAF "scapegoat"

was asked to write letter to Straitstimes so that ppl will read and turn themselves in.

Because a recent audit by PriceWaterhouse discovered that a 5-tonner full of NSmen's I-35 service records just went missing. Even the auditor's own I-35 are missing.

So SAF panic.. need to think of a way to find out how to get "missing" NSmen report for their reservist.

ryangian SG

Must remember to post that COL reply ok, i want to see how wayang this SAF can be....

BTW, look at my 286 SA thread and see the comment i made about the kind of organisation we are in

nismoS132 SG

wtf, why does a military need to hire PWC to do their acounts?!

monoslayer SG

wayang purposes? Laughing

LazerLordz SG

"transparency" Laughing

ditzy SG

Auditing, every company also need to do it annually, check your account books, check your employees have been paid nicely etc etc, you should be more surprised why they hire PWC, and not KPG. Laughing

Shotgun SG

Dear Mr Tan,

We apologise for the administration hiccup and for the inconveniences about to be caused.

I 0wn3z j00!

I Orded 2005 feb, and i still haven't recieved any unit posting. Any cause for concern?

oxford mushroom SG

Did he disrupt NS for overseas studies? After graduation, he might have gone on to the reserve holding list because he was working overseas. When he returns, he will start his reservist late lor.

Another possibility might be that he was previously downgraded for medical reasons but has now been upgraded.

correction: KPMG

antoh SG

i was posted to 696SIR and i still see a fresh NSMen at his age of 34 doing his first ICT also. He was shocked as well. The organization is good but the management sucks

Othello_Red SG

man, since when is the organization itself good? Rolling Eyes

the foundations upon which the organization was built is good, everything else is in a state of permanent decay. frankly, i believe it truly is ALL for show. put it this way, more and more singaporeans are wanting to give up living there(not citizenship) because of the fact of this liability. if it wasn't that bad, it wouldn't be called liability would it?

anw, i orded a year ago, applied for deferment cuz i'm studying overseas now and yet they still call me up. whatever their problem is, i have no idea. besides, the job i do is supposedly obsolete. oh well, lets just wait and see what kinda tricks theu have up their sleeves this time

General_koh SG

Unless there is a change in the SAF manpower directive, a NSman can only be called up no more than 3 weeks per workyear? So, if one is being call up for a ICT, and assume he is the advance party, then he will served the whole of 3 weeks in 1 ict. If one is not officer, then by age 40, regardless whether you can completed your 10 cycle or not, you are not required to go back to NS by law…. well, like i said, unless they changed the directive….
