saline SG

than who do u want to be gen? Rolling Eyes

Ponders SG

THe rank exists.

Just that no one is qualified to hold it.

Correct me if i am wrong, Israel don't normally have a 4 star rank unless required.

Some armies don't even have Star ranks... stop at Colonel.

Singapore would have 4 star if NS battalions are activated.

NT2 SG

3 stars maximum

acwire_2125 SG

Some countries like the US only have 4 star as the normal general. Only when there is a war like the case of WWII, they have 5 star.

Not sure about the case of Singapore. Heard that most officers will be promoted one rank when there is a war. Any one can verify?

And I have never seen anyone at Beach Road sell 4 star rank. Laughing

Hellraiza SG

phuck. Only officers promote? Then the men on the ground how?

Darkness_hacker99 SG

demoted to slaves lor.

12qwaszx SG

correct me if i'm wrong, but the number of stars determine the army size

Singapore only has 1 army, so only up to 3 stars

US has up to Corp strength, so have 4 stars

and contrary to popular beliefs, during conflict, NS battalions will be the first to be fielded, after the standby units

LazerLordz SG

Not really, when you are talking about more than 500k troops, that is more than one Army.

I'd say a 4 star field rank exists. Wink

dakkon_blackblade SG

Corps is a smaller unit than army. Usually, 3 corps make up one army. In times of war, armies may be collected into army groups, which are usually commanded by 4-star generals.

flash9933 SG

correct me if I'm wrong ...

So far, only few persons attained the rank of LG: Winston Choo, Ng Jui Ping, Lim Chuan Poh and Ng Yat Chung ...

2 stars are: Desmond Kwek, Tan Huck Gim, Lui Tuck Yew, Lim Kim Choon, Han Eng Juan, Lim Neo Chian, Kwek Siew Jin (1 or 2 stars) .. only the first 2 still in the force ..

1 star ... too many liao

LazerLordz SG

MG Tan Huck Gim was reverted to BG after his command in Timor Leste ended.

I still consider him to be an MG, for the fact that he has field command experience, something which many of our BGs or even COAs lack.

Master -_- SG

Chief Of Arty, he was already an MG…coincidental he was selected Force Commander…

martin_lim85 SG

Lim Kim Choon ORD/ROD LOR Laughing
