flash9933 SG

Mine was 7mins 55 sec at 7BTS in 1993. Best SOC timing was an Indian guy who clocked 6min 30 sec ++ ... he cleared the obstacles like in playground

Gordonator SG

jump and grab hold onto the wall then swing my left leg up to carry me on top.

wuming78 SG

for someone of my mass and physique, i think i prob need spring boots to help me with low wall.

bitter sweet memories... soc. the fear the thought of it always invoked... yet the desire to take up its challenge in the (vain) hope to do it well.

oh well... luckily (or not) i do not need to clear soc now. Wink

SOC is pretty nothing much…it’s just that the “Tekanning” during SOC training….haven’t start SOC already tekan-ed like dogs….bery sad..

dakkon_blackblade SG

I got the same timing for both first year and second year – 9:28.

Gordonator SG

the various SOC stations are ok, just that the run down is killer.

saline SG

ya.. SOC training is the worse! 7-11... full load, i.e 2 full water bottles, dummy mags, smoke, grenades, etc.... shag man!!

Ponders SG

I notice as the generation progress... the timing worsen...

my time, i clocked 8:58 and considered top 15 in my company liao. The fastest was 7:50+ that time.

BMT, i passed with 9:49.

Now, BMT, they don't really care if you passed, the entier company can only have 1-2 passers.

Then Sispec.. anything under 9:30 is good. but most ppl fall in the 9:30-10:30 mark.

wuming78 SG

actually i think the soc training is ok, but the soc test is the killer! like i heard a PTI say, once people hear SOC, half of them fail liao; once they hear it is a test, another half of the remaining half fail! so in the end only one quarter will pass.. Mr. Green

kops21 SG

so jatlat meh? nowadays all become so weak? Sad

Ponders SG

aiyah, they say want to train based on practical aspect...

they say in war ppl don't do this do that, so why SOC i guess?

so lack focus on such training liao.

the ex BMTC sch 2 CO ever say he don't really endorse that recruits must pass IPPT to pass BMT. his argument, "since when you do pull up in battle".

haha.

playtime SG

BMT whole Co only 1-2 pass? Unless its the obese Co, thats fXXking pathetic!!!

Other than doing fire movement, SOC is really the best physical training for realistic ops.

Considering fitness is usually best during school rather than unit. The SISPEC times isnt impressive either.

Dearly hope the commandos and OCS have better averages.
