Hmmm but why?

I wonder how many youngsters below the age of 21yrs are interested in voting for the political future of their country anyway... especially when it entails long hours of queuing that can take a large part of the morning.

Either way you get the day off. If you only want to vote at 18 because you think it's a day off for you... better not to have to skip having to vote right? Then you have the entire day off.

I agree that most 18 year olds really aren't that aware of politics and the serious issues behind it.

But most are old enough to follow the order "charge!"

I guess that is why NS units aren't sent for peace keeping missions. But if a real war broke out and it got really desperate, let's face it, anyone who is old enough to carry a rifle and can pull the trigger will be pressed into service regardless of age.

If our backs are up against the wall, I wouldn't be surprised if the NCC gets a role as well.

Lazerlords has strong views regarding letting 18-year-old NSFs vote. Why hasn't he posted yet?

If we have a duty to protect Singapore, we DESERVE a say as to who is fit to gevern it.

Post what? Rolling Eyes I've said my piece a long time ago, way before this thread.Even though I agree with the idea of universal suffrage at 18, quoting me like this will not make a difference.

I, for the record, do not earn millions of dollars each year being the Minister, no do I have the urge to be a Minister. Laughing
