Proper use of the Condom in the SAF

i think using condom to cover the barrel is NONSENSE..

cuz anyone who is in unit esp. infantry who did river ops, river crossing etc, will know water WILL get into the rifle mainly through the bolt carrier cover and the center part of the M16. Anyway it doesnt matter EVEN if your rifle is soaked with water, cuz it still shoots and works.

Our rifle is based on the percussion cap explosive technology not the last time POWDER and igniting type. Well, sometimes too much rush may cuz rifle to jam and chamber explosion, etc.

But using condom to water proof the rifle is CRAP!... Laughing

I sorta agree with you.

However, i can see the value of the condom as an imporvised barrel cap when operating in muddy+swampy or dusty terrain (like iraq).

negative. To share with you all youngsters, here goes:

1994 went to ROC as NSF. Advance party somemore. Winter somemore. Cold like fuck. Confirm at that time already had 'call gals' following SAF troops ( your eyes must be sharp to findout ). These gals fetched around by their OKT, hint ( Black Honda Accord ).

1996 went to ROC for the 2nd time but this time as NSmen aka Reservist. That year and month also the same time PRC shooting missile over. ( Or was it 1998? ).

1998 went to ROC for the 3rd time and while R&R in the hotel hugging my team mate sleeping ( joking lah ), hotel shake shake! Earth Quake! Famous and hot news in ROC that time. But not sure over in Sg news got report or not but what the heck, continue sleeping lah.

2002 suppose to go ROC but cancel due to major parts of areas SAF deployed heavily damaged by earthquake sometime back, the famous 928 earthquake. ( correct number or not? ).

2004 step down as I completed my last ICT.

2005 waiting for my first ever B.I.T Mr. Green

Any SAF trooper who went to ROC sure turn into a super Hum-Sap becos of culture shock. Way back in 1994 you still can find tiger show stage at the road side! No joke.

Yes, it is not so much to waterproof but to prevent foreign objects blocking your barrel !

If you cross enough swampy areas , you will understand the value of the common condom!

where you finish the batallion cycles and left with like 2-3 more ICTs, basically personally physical maintenance? Very Happy

"Basic Individual Training" - the last three years of the 13 year ICT cycle are "BIT" years. Its just one or two days - nothing much at all, just briefing, weapons training, etc, etc. The last one is to ROD and collect your certificate.
