shade343 SG How does one becom a clerk or Medic officer in the army? I dun think I like the other vocations other than these 2
thoreldan SG yeah, and if u're combat fit, you'd become a combat medic you walk the same distance as your fellow infantry soldiers, plus u need to carry stretcher and your medic bag, not forgetting your weapon
ditzy SG I once had 2 combat medics under me, on top of the training they did, they still had medical centre duties to attend to.
kopiosatu SG i didn't know we had much of a choice. maybe the SAF really is changing. "whatcha wanna be a...? COOK CLERK DRIVER!"
tarutaru SG Actually to be a MO u don't have to sign on....if u got into medical school, after BMT you can disrupt to study medicine then come back to SAF and to be trained as a MO which included attending MOCC and OCS. After that combat fit MO will get the CPT rank and non combat fit MO will get the LTA rank. As for combat medic it is now more trained in the peace time role which is why you will be tought paramedic. Which consist of the 2 phase.....but the poking part is true lot of poking with needle.
Gordonator SG LOL! being a clerk and a MO is very different u know? it's like saying u want to be either a beggar or a CEO.
cornyfish2000 SG Heh, i think an MO's job is not as slack as u think, gotta chiong sua in addition to manning the medical centre... unless of course he has some staff appointment.
shade343 SG I dont want to be a combat medic, just the normal type that sits in the building waiting to treat casualties I kinda like poking ppl too
