I think Rafa did a great job thus far

Over the years, Rafa has done a decent job. He got Liverpool into 2 Champions League finals, won 1, and also had 1 FA cup and multiple top 4 finishes. But u...

Patrik SG

but if you're talking about like, the fa cup and the CL against west ham and ac milan respectively, those were because of gerrard if you see properly.

Champions League?

Who was the one who scored that wonder goal against Juventus?

And that ghost goal against Chelsea.

From my pov,It was Luis Garcia who brought Liverpool to that unforgettable night in Istanbul, not Gerrard.

Pisses me off, when everyone is talking about Gerrard doing EVERYTHING.

ASKL! SG

hello mr anti gerrard,

that wasn't my point that gerrard is everything. i'm just trying to make an example that it wasn't rafa who inspired the team to victory.

I am not anti-Gerrard,just that i feel Luis Garcia is not getting enough credit nor recognition.

The only right thing Rafa did was to buy Alonso,Garcia,Mascherano,Torres,Babel,Benayoun and Aquilani.

As for the rest like Dirk Kuyt,Pennant,Mark Gonzalez,Josemi,Kromkamp(omg, the list is sooooo longgggg),i just feel they are not good enough for Liverpool.

You dont think Reina's a good buy? What about Agger, whom Real Madrid had been courting publicly since god-knows-when? And Glen Johnson, whom we managed to sign despite a better wage offer from Chelsea? Aurelio... (ok he's made of glass but still I find rather good when fit - considering he's bought for free!)

Of your list I find Babel the most unconvincing buy... to each his own I guess.

Personally, I think when you say 'The only right thing Rafa did was to buy...' then follows up with almost the entire first team squad (except Gerrard & Carragher) means Rafa's doing a great job... no?

Ahh,shit i left out Reina and Agger.

And no,i am not convinced abt Glen Johnson.

I would prefer Riise over Aurelio anyday.

Babel unconvincing? Why?I still feel that he is a talent.

First 2 are gone.Only Torres and Mascherano are playing regularly.

rafa has another 4-5 seasons left right after he signed a new 5 years contract last season. if he were to fulfil his contractual obligations, do u think he will win either the CL, BPL title or the domestic cups like fa cup/league cup?

SpamBox SG

When Babel gets the ball, seems to me he'll give away possession 9/10 times and do a spectacular on the rare 10th. Awfully good on that occasion, otherwise pretty bland.

Just look at Liverpool vs Everton this season, the difference after Babel came on to replace N'gog was huge. (side note - I do not think N'gog is good enough yet, his finishing sucks. However I feel no one here recognizes his ability to maintain possession on his own up front, pretty good considering he's still young and playing in the toughest league in the world)

Of your long list of 'not good enough for liverpool' players, bear in mind Rafa's transfer budget. Who wouldn't want to sign big name players if they can afford to?

Poignant SG

Ryan is a center forward, and it's our dear rafael who played him on the wings.

he's a lad with potential.

Ryan played on the wings of 4-3-3 at Ajax before joining Liverpool. Well he was played up front alone in Torres' absence earlier this season but...

Still dont understand why the hatred on Rafa. It's like he's blamed for not signing enough big-named players when 1) we dont have the budget and 2) which big name players did we sign before rafa came?

SpamBox SG

I'll reply this after we find a new owner and find out if he's willing to trust rafa with the money.

If no new owners liverpool will go bankrupt like leeds or portsmouth and my reply will be irrelevant.

no joke. Clowns refuse to fork out money while bank wants payment of their initial loan - the loans clowns used to purchase the club.

Poolman SG

Rafa always do well .

Another drama stirred up by Ah Ben.

He is just giving the fans the reasons for not making to the 4th position.

He is either using this reason to defend his failure or to use this as a reason to leave the club.

The problem is always that he wasted money on weird players when he have the money.

Besides, a few players that can be sold, the rest is practically price-less.

Googooboyy SG

When we have the money?? We don't have the money. Rafa's budget have been shrinking year after year, just as his squad list has.

The club needs to pay off a massive debt, and when you have a massive debt, it means the owners are using borrowed money to buy players, and there's only so much leverage that the club has, which really is close to nothing.

Just look at this summer -- were not even linked to any players, because there's just no money. If we had the money, David Billa, Gareth Barry, Robbie Keane would all be wearing Red earlier against Fulham, and scoring goals.

The Truth: There's not much money, and it's as if Rafa's having to barter trade everytime he wants to sign a new player.

I LOVE LIVERPOOL SO MUCH SG
