Singapore govt should really look into letting SCDF FireEngines&Ambulances go thru traffic lights when proceeding for 995 calls! ( Of course, safety com...

if the case is a genuine emergency then its free..
otherwise a charge will be imposed..

If my wife give birth? Is it counted as 'genuine emergency'? How much will be imposed?

yes, dat is an example of a genuine emergency therefore no charges will be imposed..
such cases will be en-routed to KKH..

wow okay thanks for the information QX179R. Anyway how you get all those information?

QX179R SG

post it!

wow i see, so it means 114 will usually see less action because 111,2 and 3 will be dispatch first? or they just randomly dispatch if all 4 are available? assuming they are all at one station.

I think A114 is a spare alpha for now which means there's no such alpha..
with regards to alphas being dispatched, it all depends on the OCC..

but I can safely say one thing, with the help of the pte ambulances, 995 calls are lesser for the scdf fleet of ambulances..

Okay i see:) Anyway thanks for the information:) In future, i need help, i will post here again.

which means there are still 4 alphas on call and not increased to 5.

I wonder how it is across other stations.

If there is no increase of ambulances, just the decrease of on call SCDF personnel supplemented by the PAO, then i think it is not what the news reports originally suggested?

If i remember correctly, there was supposed to be an increase of ambulances on call.

QX179R SG

maybe some stns will have more calls as compared to others..
with regards to the stn dat I previously was from, I asked & they told me calls were much lesser than before the PAOs came in..

for stn 11, high chance that the callsigns are - A111, A112, A113 & PA111..
as for A114, it might be used as a spare alpha for some ops-steadfast..

sure, no probs..
will try to ans ur queries to the best of my ability..

Pitot SG

agree.. maybe now with the PAOs in the picture, they might even just switch to using PAs for ops.

It has to be cheaper for SCDF to sub out instead of operating themselves.

QX179R SG

it all boils down to cost..
and 995 calls are increasing as its a greying population..

Prior to PAO deployment

Stn 11 has A111 to 115.

okay so it means there is still 5 ambulances and no increase.

Actually was quite shocked at seeing 115 one Saturday afternoon below my block (Tanglin Halt) since all the while thought Central has only A111 to 114. Later someone told me 115 is deployed to Cairnhill.

I'd love to see a breakdown of which alpha assigned to which FS/FP then easier for spotting. Quite boring seeing those from Stn 22, 23 and 33

Pitot SG

Not right, if CFS only has 111 to 114 now

then which alpha is at cairnhill?or is there no alpha based there now?

LOL, we cant be everywhere to spot... unless you have people who live in the west or north or commute there regularly, then we can see.

A115 should be @Cairnhill FP, unless A115 is de-numbered off run. I've taken pic of A115 out for call frm Stn11 in JuL.

Pitot SG

ok, i shld pass by this week, i will try to see.

If its there then 11 shld have an increase of ambulances available...
