Other types of shoppers:
VALUE SHOPPERS love
to shop and the thrill of the hunt. For Value Shoppers, looking for
the best deal is fun—and finding one inspires crowing and good
cheer. Window shopping is popular with this eagle-eyed crew, who
are not in a rush to get home—and will even forgo convenience and
proximity to score a deal.
SECOND-GUESSERS like
to look for the best price, but worry about having missed a better
deal. More savers than spenders, Second-Guessers enjoy looking for
deals but are concerned that they may not have made the right
purchase decision. They’re price conscious so they’ll comparison
shop, but they don’t want to spend as much time in stores as
Supreme or Value Shoppers.
IMPULSE SPENDERS are
willing to pay a little more for impulse buys, fun, quality or
convenience. Impulse Spenders are on the fence about shopping—they
don’t abhor it, but don’t seek it out. However, when they fall off
the fence on the side of purchasing, they fall with flair. They’re
inspired by the moment, and enjoy buying something fun or
unexpected, and will not go out of their way to get a better
price.
RELUCTANT
SHOPPERS shop only when they must. Reluctant Shopper
don’t like crowds, get bewildered at the thought of choosing one
item over the other, and see window shopping or browsing as time
they could spend doing any number of other things. When it comes to
consumerism, the only pride Reluctant Shoppers will admit to is the
satisfaction of getting in and out of a store as quickly as
possible.
