i happened to rewatched star wars episode 1 to 6 recently and i
came across something pretty interesting. If u rewatched episode 3
where anakin skywalker and padme were having a meal at a
restaurant, padme was asking anakin abt jedi.
He said that in the study to become a jedi master, possesion is
forbidden, attachment is forbidden, compassion is the center of a
jedi life. A jedi practices mindfulness through meditation.
Although buddhism did nt state that attachment and possesions
are not forbidden, they are a form of suffering if one doesnt
understand the law of impermanence. I think it is pretty cool. If u
rewatched episode 1 where qui gonn was fighting with darth maul and
the energy shield seperates them, qui gon actually meditates.
I tried to find online for articles which supports that the jedi
concept was extracted from buddhism but unfortunately i cant
any.
