My personal opinion is that if she really is a devout christian, forget her.

Unless you can really accept it and convert, all the things that christians do will continue to irritate you until one day you cannot take it anymore.

However, it's mostly up to the couple.

My girlfriend is a christian. My girlfriend's parents are devout christians. My girlfriend's dad probably could have a PhD in Theology if he bothered to go get one.

However, my gf does not preach about christ to me and I don't criticize christianity in front of her. Overall, it works out pretty well.

Erm... I will pass.

I came from a missionary school and attended 4 years of weekly compulsory assembly/ worship sessions. It is anything but fun. I was quite appalled by their fear of, and animosity towards, all other belief systems, especially Taoism and Buddhism.

If anything I got out of these sessions, it is an understanding of the extent of xenophobia exhibited towards Buddhism and Taoism, and why the Korean Christians resort to persecuting their fellow buddhist countrymen and burning their temples.

Some Xtian sometimes disguise their negative beliefs, behaviours and actions in the name of their religion.

Missionary school is a different ball game. I heard from a friend of mine that in certain missionary secondary school, they use corporal punishments for those who repeatedly skipped the worship session. Don't know how true though.

I do have a buddhist friend who told me during his JC times, again in a missionary school, he pasted this "I love Buddha" sticker on his locker, next day the sticker is gone. lol

Church service and school are very different environment because the audience is very very different.

There is fun in the service literally, dancing, partying getting to know 'cai' =P

There is fun in observing how audience behave.

There is fun in picking up how pastor give sermon.

There is fun in learning how cell group leader conduct their gatherings.

There is fun in understanding how they adapt their theologies into day-to-day solutions.

There is fun in realising that Dhamma is the most Supreme Gift afterall =)
