This is what I wrote in ~EH~

I hope the Buddhists here (and anyone of any other Faith) will offer words of hope and compassion here and the Mods will delete anything negative posted.

May the hostages have a supernatural peace and serenity in this time of terror in their lives beyond human understanding.

bohiruci SG

Actually its beyond religion

We feel that terrorist should not CAPTIVE all sentient Beings [noted:all sentient beings]

the purpose of terrorism is to create chaos and suffering ,that once being inflicted upon

I will certainly bless for their safe return home

AndrewPKYap SG

Thank You, like this person said in ~EH~

Taleban hostage crisis tests Presidents nerve
Tim Albone in Wardak province

The Taleban delayed a threat to kill 23 South Korean hostages yesterday while increasing their demands for a prisoner swap. But President Karzai of Afghanistan is under pressure to refuse to release Taleban fighters in exchange for the Christian aid workers.

Mulavi Attiullah Luddin, a member of parliament from Nangarhar, said of a possible swap: It will only encourage the Taleban to take hostages. Its opening a market for all Taleban, criminals and al-Qaeda.

May the merits I have accumulated from today onwards be dedicated to all sentient beings of the ten directions to be liberated from their sufferings, be it mental or physical.
May the merits I have accumulated from today onwards be dedicated to all sentient beings of the ten directions to be able to enjoy happiness and have its causes.
Although all I can do today is to offer my merits to them as a means of relief, I vow one day to offer Dharma as a means of relief to them from Samsara.

I pray that the Hostages will be released unharmed and safe. I pray that the people who held them captive to be free of hatred, aversion and to be liberated from ignorance.

Good prayer...

Chin Eng SG

just curious:

is conclusion this base on "beliefs" or "logic".....?

AndrewPKYap SG

Logic, because he prayed for the hostages as well as the hostage takers...

All sentient beings are in this together... logical and scientific also because the whole universe works in relation to each and every object as a whole.... nothing in this universe exist inherently (scientific) and the fundamental particle that is the building block of the whole universe is *scientifically speaking", "strings".

Mind Blowing.

If you exist as a lonely individual or part of an organization...(Christian, Buddhist, Singaporean or whatever) it is not as good as if you exist as part of the Universe because that is the ULTIMATE REALITY.

Chin Eng SG

so pray to whom? a personable deity or an impersonable “force”?

AndrewPKYap SG

hahaha, whoever you believe lor... I never said that you cannot believe right? Just that it is not logical and rational. Laughing

Herzog_Zwei SG

I hope that they can die in peace so that the world will have greater peace.

AndrewPKYap SG

BTW if you are still reading this, I wanted to start this thread in ~EH~ but I saw that you closed another Hostage thread and asked TS to join the obnoxious one...

23 South Koreans Christians held hostage

Since Buddhists have no problems praying for Christians... I decided to put it here (atheists don't pray so not appropriate for atheism forum)

Taliban talks 'not going well'

By Agencies

Twenty-three South Koreans held by the Taliban in Afghanistan are in good health, a Taliban spokesman has said, but warned negotiations with Afghan and Korean officials were "not going well".

yup, I agree that the one that still remains is obnoxious.... unfortunate, the fact and logic is that the one that came first remains open.

+I too think that these folks are stupid. Laughing but I don't think they deserved to be hostages.... just that in everything we do, we should count the cost, and going to such a place is just plain dumb - no like they are under some kind of United Nations protection or something...

AndrewPKYap SG

Then like that Mother Teresa also "stupid" ?
