anyone here wears or own one?

are those on offer at the guanyingmiao near bugis real stuff?

An Eternal Now SG

This?

Got no real and fake one la...

But I wear malas made of mu-huan seeds, its known to be able to 'repell' evil spirits. see http://www.jenchen.org.sg/vol4no4c.htm

but is really up to you.... malas can be made of any kinds of materials Smile its only meant to be a tool... most important is your sincerity in chanting, chant with a non-wavering mind

dragg SG

i dont want to be cheated.

Mr. Green

An Eternal Now SG

Cheated..? There's no cheating one la... unless your Fo Zhu is made of 24 carat gold Laughing

i have a 28 beads mala of pink crystals which i use for chanting to keep track of the counts.

any mala made of any material is fine as long as you feel comfy with it.

i keep them nicely on the altar like precious gems when i don't use them. Mr. Green

happy chanting!

dragg SG

i checked around.

the cheapest is 20 odd and a few hundred for the pricey ones.

An Eternal Now SG

U sure bo? You can get them for $2.

My mu-huan mala is $10 and I consider it quite expensive for a mala.

An Eternal Now SG

Even have free of charge. My dharma teacher gave malas for free if she gave instruction for someone to chant and he/she dont have mala. Some shi fu in Singapore give for free too. I also receive one from Jiu Hua Shan's (Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Mountain in China) abbot Smile

dragg SG

thats why i am asking.

they claimed that it is shuijing. but who knows whether it is authentic.

of course i am not buying one that cost 400. the problem is i dont want to pay 20 for something that actually cost 2 somewhere else.

bohiruci SG

next time dun buy , i can ask my shifu give u one

An Eternal Now SG

Why you want shuijing one in first place... dun need la.. a simple one will do Smile Buddhism ask people not to be attached to forms. Smile but i also not sure whether real or not..

paperflower SG

mine is shuijing leh then how? hahaa....

dragg SG

how much is it?

what is the colour?

An Eternal Now SG

Nothing wrong... just my comments hehe... shui jing is gd also for those who likes to wear jewellery.

So how much you bought it for? Are you sure it's real?

paperflower SG

its pink crystal i like because it is pink kekeee....
i forgot how much i paid for it and it has some yellow frills at the end also.

dragg SG

how many beads?

paperflower SG

forgot how much maybe around 30+. bought it from one of those shops selling religious stuff in bugis.

paperflower SG

btw my mala is not for wearing as jewellery Mr. Green

its more like to hold it in my hands and run through the beads while chanting.

dragg SG

there are two types.

one for wearing on the wrist and the other for chanting.
