Time moves pretty fast. Speaking of those days, I'm probably the last 20th century kid who still remember everything, before 21st century.

Talking about SBS seats were being vandalised regularly and you can even find pee or vomit in some of them if you travel late at night.

Those bumboats operators made their living by selling all sorts of things from provisions to toys,electronics supplying pros to ships that were on anchorage.

I only remember the cranes lifting sacks(of rice?) and the river was really terrible...

P.S: I stayed on the spot of land where Tanjong Pagar MRT is on now.

Parents take the kids to Haw Par Villa when they were naughty to scare the living hell out of them....head kena saw ,tongue kena cut,people boiled in oil,didnt know that hell had steam rollers to go over people also.

There was also a favorite amusement park called 'Gay World' never mind why they named it that way but it was kids paradise.....could ride a death defying roller coaster that only had two bumps to make people go 'Ooooo'

The coloured drinks only 10 cents. I can drink 5-7 glasses after playing football.

This is the ultimate. I only remember this place as the "mouth"(the open mouth shaped fountain) when I was a kid.
