Time moves pretty fast. Speaking of those days, I'm probably the last 20th century kid who still remember everything, before 21st century.

Yes it was.Havent been to that area in a very long time but it was located very near the kallang ice skating rink.

It was the bluff chewren quick fix drink....syrup + coloring and water.Kids get infection from drinking too much of those.

The Indian uncle would jokingly say I very stingy if I just went for the default option. Of course I usually ordered 50 cents worth of nuts.

Going back farthur in time.There were free oatmeals for malnourished kids and children who couldnt afford food during recess time.Those were the days when PAP damn power one.

Last time kacang putih man use magazines paper to roll into cone, then slot all the nuts inside. I hope he didn't use public magazines where ppl stick boogers on the pages to roll those cones.

For those who could remember anything about Singapore as far as your memory can take you please share.l will start first about some places families could swim and get together in the weekends without paying a single cent.

Singapore had a marine life once when children could easily pick up star fishes from the beach and catch sea horses and other marine life in plastic bags.Then there was no such place called 'Marine Parade ' the shore line was up to Fort Rd in front of 'Duke Hotel' (now I dont know what it is called).The shoreline at pasir panjang was located at about a reclaimed land where they built seafood 88.The only excess to labrador is a short jungle trek and climbing down rocks to the beach.Over at the east coast was another beautiful popular picnic and beach hangout called 'Mata ikan' but sadly it was one of the first to go.I need good participation from contributors to help me recall more....For the young people you could just post anything you hear from your Ah Kong or a friendly taxi driver>hahaha

These days they are over-nourished, they have to think up ways to make them burn up the extra calories.

NB.. i miss fitzpatrick's too.. used to go there after school to read magazines..

school excursions were to the van cleef aquarium where i loved to look at the silly lazy nurse sharks and the piranhas..

the National Theater looked amazing but was hot as heck as it was open-air...

Fort Canning didn't have The Legends yet and i went exploring after ECA.. the fort up there was cool and behind the doors, you could go up to the top through these dark and damp stairs...

MPH was a great place to go read books and magazines after ECA too..

Centrepoint were full of kids which i never fit in with but was tolerated by them.. i went there whenever i saved enough money to buy vinyl records at The Attic and Supreme Records...

there was also another record shop which i forgot what name at The Delfi..
