Time moves pretty fast. Speaking of those days, I'm probably the last 20th century kid who still remember everything, before 21st century.

Can limit the violent scenes. You will be surprised nowadays girls are catching up, seen some violent ones around. Some love to fight. My little niece enjoys "sword fighting". hahahaha

It was a huge turnout on the first day. Also the souvenir golden coloured ticket.

asked me if i want to go or not but i could not be bothered...

another thing which hit me suddenly.. does anyone remember that huge lion statue at the alexandra/redhill junction where Thye Hong used to be? the building there now sells furniture..

that lion statue used to be a landmark for the area

oh.. here's another..

i was schooling around Bukit Timah when i was a cub.. does anyone remember whenever there was a rainstorm, the whole bloody place would flood?

i got stuck in school a few times because of the flood.. and from our school we saw a few guys who were late for school actually disappear (and reappear) when they fell into the drains which were hidden by the floodwaters

Not only that... there was an A&W in the middle of the road around opposite where the Cluny Road NIE (University road after farrer/Adam underpass) is.

There was a KFC in the middle of the Kg Java Park at where Kandang Kerbau Hospital is now.

Pizza Hut used to be an up-market restaurant.

Seoul Garden actually served authentic Korean food last time

1 Station MRT ride was 45 cents.

Inflation seems not to affect Toilets, in fact deflation happened. Most toilets were 10 cents, and they are still 10 cents. Paragon was a whooping 30 cents but its free now.

Flying overseas for holiday seemed to be a "never in my lifetime" activity with air tickets almost easily going to 4 figure sums even to nearby destinations.

Lucky Plaza was a mall everyone went "wow!" about.

Back in primary one... i thought my 22 year old teacher was super old. Now i am way beyond that age.. but hey.. shes into her late 40s now. haha

Thanks for the contribution.If my memory serves me right there was a big pond at Kampong Java years before the first KFC was built and after KFC Shakeys Pizza took over.

Paragon probably had the first modern toilet in SIngapore at that time with the automatic glass doors , hand dryers...30cts entry charge.

yeah.. KFC used to serve everything in proper plates and metal cutlery.. it was a nice sit-down place...

there was a Denny's and a Hardee's at Holland Village too.. they closed down...

kinda miss the old bakery in Plaza Singapura.. when Yaohan was there.. we could look in through the glass window and see the bakers hard at work kneading the dough and doing all the baker things

Though I felt that his proposal wasnt really correct. (Maybe I am just cynical.)

Does anyone of you guys remembers when you actually went down on one knee to propose, and what was the location?

The pond was at the otherside of the park along New Cemetery Road (renamed as now as Cavenagh Road).

The First KFC was at Sin Min Rd in early 70s.
