It should be a helpful advice rather than tips; he said that in
order to finish the run, 30 km mileage clock during training is
sufficient. So I trained for once per week for about 2 months,
starting from 5km and subsequently incremental of 5 km every week.
By the time 6 weeks passes, have done 30km. I ran entirely at
night, so I discipline myself not to drink or stop throughout the
runs. If not his words, I could have give up cos it's awfully
boring to go on beyond 30 km, which already took 3 hours and 50
mins! I went on for shorter run 2 weeks before the marathon, and
manage 5 hours 30 min on the day itself. It fits my expectation at
least for a first timer and short preparation. Hope it helps!
